It seems the first thing would be dictators go after is the press more and more complaining first that the press is tilted against them and then they eventually shut down the press and have one state news agency that tells the news "fairly" without stepping on the toes of the government?

Why is it also that would be tyrants like Chavez in Venezuela, Hitler of days gone by, and even Russia's Putin shut down any dissenters by accusing them of being traitors conspiring with some boogey man enemy that (the USA ) that he claims has it out for Russia. In other words Putin has any dissenters arrested because if they oppose him, its only because they are spies of the USA.

All the ones with the propensity to be tyrants or who prefer to be led by a tyrant seem to follow the same script over and over again.

What can we here in the USA learn from all this?

I HAVE SPENT MONTHS DIVISING THE SITUATION WITH WHAT THE HAPPENING IS WITH THE RIGHT AND LEFT

THE RIGHTIES WHAT MOST PEOPLE DONT UNDERSTAND IS THAT THEY JUST FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION

AND LIBREALS I HAVE A BOOK FOR YOU TO READ ITS OLDER THAN THE USA. THE NATURAL RIGHTS OF MAN,BY JOHN LOCKE

WHATS GOING DOWN IS THE CONSERVITIVES AND LIBREALS ARE TAKING THERE SIDES IF ONE LIBREAL OR CONSERVITIVE BIELIVES IT THAN SO DO THE REST

FURTHER MORE I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT NOW THANKS TO THE DEMO/REP. SYSTEM OF GOVERMENT NOW WOULD BE A GOOD TIME FOR A THIRD PARTY PRESIDENT

WHAT MAKES ME MAD IS ORRIGINNALLY DEMOCRAT AND REPUBLICANS WERE THE SAME THEY WERE UNDER REPUBLICANS DOUCH

AND WHILE THE DEMO/REPS ROAMED THE US LOTS THERE WERE TWO OTHER PARTIES THAT WON PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
FEDERLIST AND WHIG WHIG WAS A THIRD PARTY AND AGAINST THE BANK OF THE US.....

FIRST PART LOOK FOR SECOND PART SOON

The gov't is getting in debt with China, big debt. And we know USA is in a win or win situation with Iraq. USA loose the war, and they wont be able to redeem the over 1 trillion dollars invested because they wont be able to take over the oil. Bush has just cut the funds on national protection against terror by over 50%.

What the h*ll is going on? How price is going down, dollar is going down, China economy growing, USA economic decreasing. This has not been projected 10 years ago.

What is your opinion about it?

The second amendment grants us the right to bear arms. Our Founding Fathers wanted all the rights listed in the Bill of Rights to apply to all citizens.
Why won't the LEFT recognize the Second Amendment is no exception? It DOESN'T apply only to the National Guard!
May it be because our Founding Fathers wanted the citizen to handle their guaranteed rights responsibly and the Liberals don't trust us to be responsible? Could it be we each were EXPECTED to be held legally responsible for misuse of our rights? The Left doesn't want RESPONSIBILITY to apply ANYWHERE to any of the guaranteed rights. (Especially when applied to the freedom of speech.)
Please clarify!

P.S Not a bashing NASA question. I just wonder why the Govt can spend millions & millions for space exploration but yet they are not willing to do the same for people who need healthcare in this country.

& how would you feel ?

2007-12-01 11:43:29 · 27 answers · asked by Anonymous

do you think it would be better to abolish the irs and go with a flat tax, or a fair tax, where the gov't taxes the goods that we buy? (i know if my paycheck was fatter, id be spending me more money on goods. not to mention all the money that drug dealers and other criminals make and people who get paid under the table, all that money would also be taxed when they shopped)

would the gov't make more money with a fair tax?? (considering if you do your deductions right on your taxes, they have to pay you back at the beginning of the year)

it seems like, if you tax what i buy, then you can keep all that tax (within reason) but to tax money that i earn, then tax the money that i use, then tax my possessions! where does it stop?

do you think that people would vote for a measure like this?

or is it too ingrained in the US mindset that we need to pay in?

or would local/state taxes increase by that much that we would still be be feeling the pinch?

Okay, so I have to create a t-shirt slogan about George Washington or James Madison for my History class and I can't think of one. It can't be "Father of Our Country" or "Father of Our Constitution" either. For example, Ben Franklin's slogan is "World's Oldest Delegate". So, can someone help me? Please?!?!

As with most questions re: Iran, the West gets very little info, or very little info that I think we can rely upon, about how the average Iranian feels about its government's programs and objectives. I am curious to hear what an average Iranian (someone with Iranian citizenship or roots) thinks about nuclear development in the country: For example, do they have the right to develop nuclear capability for peaceful purposes; are the current programs peaceful ones; does Iran have a moral and legal right to develop nuclear weapons as a deterence against agression. What is the general mood of Iranians on these types of questions.

And is it true that the state with the highest % of refugees in the world is also the one who is the most demonized (by the West and others) in the world, and the state with the highest % of people who came to settle there receives the highest amount of economic & military aid from the USA? If so, what is the logic in this?

Clinton balanced the budget by raiding the SS trust fund.
Now look at the trouble we have there for generations to come.

That's like you paying your credit cards every month by taking out cash advances on other credit cards.
