1in 4 in Britain work for Government.

Does it make you think they could make a better job of things, with that many people doing something?

As they are very expensive to employ.

The reason I ask this question is clearly given the fact that resources are limited, the government has to decide on whether to go after organized crime, drug lords, corportate fraud, stock fraud, anti trust cases, those who willingly sell tainted products to unsuspecting public, etc...... But the government has chosen to spend years and millions to take down Barry Bonds... why?

Every form of organized government has at least one and at most a very small group, that is realistically in charge. They may not be the leaders in name, but they are the de facto rulers of the nation. Therefore, every form of government, from democracy to theocracy to fascism to communism is logically equivalnet to either a monarchy or an oligarchy.

Think of it this way. Imagine a country with nuclear weapons. These weapons are under strict controls and safegaurds. Typically, they require two people to fire, and only certain people have the necessary codes to do it. If the leader of the coutnry wants the nukes fired, he sends an order to the silo, and these two people fire it. Or, they may decide not to, and face the consequences of insubordination and treason. Alternatively, if those two men decide, they coudl launch those missles without an order from the leader. It doesn't matter who the leader is, because those two men are the ones actually in control.

Taxpayer dollars are being wasted on reading American's emails, snail mail, listening to phone calls, and searching people's homes, yet hardly any money is being spent on border security or inspecting cargo coming into the country.

Why the disconnect?

Does the government really think that 'terrorists' are so stupid that they are going to correspond by email or by phone nowadays?

If Bush were behind 9/11, which is absurd, what evidence is there? What I mean is how do you tie Bush in. I've heard all the nonsense about controlled demolition, fire doesn't melt steel, Tower 7, etc.

But what I've never heard is a direct tie in to Bush. What is the DIRECT evidence? Not talking about vague statements saying he profits or something like that. I'm talking chain of evidence.

I am not talking about President Bush. Only the office and title. Do you believe that we are placing an unhealthy emphasis on the office of President? Do you believe that more power should be given to the House and Senate? Would the American people be better off?

Cynicism indicates that we'd have Jordan or David Beackham for PM.

Would this be any worse than the current possibilities and who do you think would get voted in and why?

I would support free trade with ALL nations.I would bring all US troops home. I would make allies with any nation that wanted to be friends. If two of my allies went to war, I would stay neutral. And if any country ever attacked US soil I would proceed to nuke the hell out of that country with no warning and any country that came to it's defense. What do you think of these ideas?

NUCLEAR RESEARCH FOR THORIUM REACTORS WAS EXTENSIVELY NEEDED BY INDIA FROM THE LAST 60YEARS. HARDLY TWO INSTITUTIONS ARE THERE FOR RESEARCH ON NUCLEAR SCIENCE .INDIA"S PROGRESS DEPENDS ON ENERGY. ENERGY IS TO COME THROUGH NUCLEAR RESEARCH(THORIUM REACTORS).DUE TO SHORTAGE OF ENERGY,INFAMOUS NUCLEAR DEAL CAME IN TO EXISTANCE.WHEN NUCLEAR DEAL CAME IN TO DISPUTE/CRITIC,GOVT. GOT DELIVERED THE STATEMENT IN THE TRIBUNE DATED DECEMBER 5,2007, ON PAGE NO-2(JOBS AND CARRIERS) FROM ANIL KAKODKAR (NUCLEAR SCIENTISTS)CHAIRMAN OF ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION THAT INDIA NEEDS MORE NUKE PROFESSIONAL.THIS NEED IS TAKING PLACE FROM THE LAST 60YEARS. QUESTION IS WHY KAKODKAR GAVE THIS STATEMENT AT THE *** END OF HIS CARRIER? WHY THE EFFORTS WERE NOT MADE BY KAKODAR IN HIS EARLIER CARRIER FOR OPENING A NUMBER OF NUCLEAR ENGINEERING COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES FOR CREATING A COMPETITION IN RESEARCH .NO DOUBT, IF 40YEARS AGO SUCH MORE INSTITUTIONS HAD BEEN OPENED THERE WOULD HAD BEEN A TOUGH COMPETITION IN NUCLEAR RESEARCH. CAN WE SAY, KAKODKAR WANTED TO HAVE A MONOPLY IN NUCLEAR SECTOR? CAN WE SAY THAT VARIOUS INDIAN GOVERNMENTS HAVE NOT TAKEN ACTION IN TIME DELIBRATELY AND ALLOWED THE RICH NATIONS TOTAKE THE ADVANTAGE OF CREATED WEAKNNESS BY INDIAN GOVERNMENTS?
