My heart goes out to each of you!
Having been a "survivor" of Hurricane Katrina, I was wondering if the government of Britian was doing a better job of helping those affected than ours:
A few stats on what has happened with all of the money sent to the survirors of Katrina, on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The Fed govmt allocated $23.5 BILLION to MS. That is enough to buy average size houses for each of the 65,000 people who lost their homes, $ enough left over to buy a brand new Honda accord to split between their two houses aver. $166,000. And by the way it is stated that is not the base model Accord, but the EX version. In addition, it's enough to give each man, woman and child in the three Southernmost counties $68,500 apiece.
However, 2 years latter the residents who survived this disaster still are waiting for grants and had it not been for volunteers would still be living in tents.
I was wondering how your government has helped/ or not helped the flooding survivors?
