Capitalist. It would be libertarian except in regards to our national and economic security. By that I mean the government would have control over education standards, but school choice. You cannot graduate without certain courses.
Energy would be controlled to assure national independance.
After that, capitialism would be the economy of choice because it allows the most individual freedom. You have to allow people to be as great or as stupid as they want to be. This also means Civil Unions for all, hetero and homo. A fair tax, like 12 % sales tax and income tax for everyone. No breaks except charity and in regards to keeping our energy independance.
I feel this is the most fair. It acknowledges that no one group or individual is seen as right. There is no one who has all the answers and therefore we recognize that and have a health humility.
The society would be democratic, so my term would be up at one point. It would be a republic with a strong party system so things can get done in the legislature. Elections would be on a flexible schedule, like England and also a limited election season. What we have now is out of hand. The only group that likes it is the media which is expecting record profits next year.

I dont know what you would call it...perhaps communist but democratic.
I would make sure that people are looked after, that we are totally self sufficient, in as much as it's possible to do so, so that we do not rely on other nations for anything.
As Canadians, we used to have a slogan not that long ago,
"SHOP CANADIAN".
That is until America butt in as they always do and f*cked us over big time with FREE trade...and ruined not just us but the majority of the world, only empowering the rich and corrupt and who benefits but the "most powerful nation" because hey--everyone is too complacent or too high on drugs to really give a rats tail. But hey...that is "democracy" for you.
We have everything we need. So I would continue the traditions we have always had, but go back to manufacturing and industry like we had back in the 50s/60s and 70s, so that we shop CANADIAN again....and stop consuming all this garbage from China and everywhere else in this world which is killing our children and poisoning our world when we are quite capable of producing it ourselves. Screw American corporations and their bloody Walmarts which have done away with all our mom and pop shops and the days when fresh milk and eggs and bread were delivered to your DOOR and where meat came from LOCAL farmers at the corner butcher store and had none of the garbage in it that it has today to mass-produce and fatten these animals up to get them out on the market. Our land sits like wasteland as more and more farmers are bankrupted so we can buy garbage from third world countries to consume and God only knows what kinds of pesticides and chemicals they use....look at all the recalls of contaminated food which is killing us.
It's pathetic what we let this bloody American government get away with.
I was able to buy a house and pay it off in 6 years as a SINGLE woman back in the 80s. I can't even pay the bills today and I was paid $25/hour 20 years ago....without so much as a college education....kids today barely start out and ever earn more than minimum wage with no education...thats the best they can hope for, and a house? Dream frigging ON!!!!
So yeah, I'd say screw you to everyone else, call me a dictator, because Canada comes first...democracy rules within our borders and screw anyone else's intentions for ruling the world...butt out of our life!!!!!!
Oh and watch out for the UNHOLY TRINITY forming (Can/Am/Mexico) coming soon to a station near you....and you think you have problems with illegal immigrants....HAH!!

I would be the Empress. Laws would work with no stoopid 'prosecutor vs. defense' attorneys.
If someone were proven wrong, NO TECHNICALITIES CRAP, they would be punished.
My Empire would be based on Be Kind To Others, rather than Live and Let Live. Some folks don't live very kindly, even though they're not doing anything wrong.
Disputes would be brought to my appointed 'dispute settlers', with any appeals brought before me. I would be the final authority.
My political stance is Love it or Leave it. You don't like it here, don't complain, just go where you think it would be better. You're free to leave.
That's all for now.

I would set it up similar to the Kingdom of Bhutan, which doesn't even measure Gross National Product (GNP). Instead, it measures 'Gross National Happiness' and ensures that all of its citizens are among the happiest, most contented people in the world. -RKO- 08/25/07

I would have a Socialist Democracy. A government that listen to their people and provides for the people who provide for it.
That, to me, is the only correct form of government.
