That would be the democratic way.. unfortunately our country is sliding quickly from democracy to a two-party (or rather a two-headed animal) dictatorship.

That is a NICE idea but with the obvious distortions of issues perpetrated by a biased media on an ignorant populace, that probably wouldn't be a Good idea.
Most people use emotions rather than their brains to make decisions. All it takes to get the "answer" you want is to play on people's emotions, rather than promoting studious thought, on any given issue, and the best SALESMAN wins!
