I'd give them a seven. They haven't done anything to bring the war in Iraq to a conclusion, but at least they're keeping the pressure on.

I wish the Dems would stand up to Bush more forcefully, but democracy is a messy business, and maybe the "slow and steady" approach will ultimately turn out to be the better one.

And things are coming out about this administration's malfeasance that might not have if the Republicans were still in control.

With 10 being the best rating, and 1 being the worst, I would rate Congress at -50.
The former Republican-led Congress stood by as Bush ran rip shod over our Constitution, violated the UN Charter, and ignored the rules of the Geneva Convention.
The current Democratic-led Congress promised to end this war if they were elected, and - so far - have done nothing to keep that promise.
In my estimation, both Congressional bodies are wicked, contemptible, incompetent, arrogant, cowardly, corrupt and deserve to be tried for high crimes against humanity in an international tribunal. When it happens, don't forget to also bring Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld to trial at the same time for the same crimes.
Surely Satan has reserved a special oil-soaked, blood-stained corner of Hell for all of these cretins who have allowed an unjustified, unconstitutional, illegal, immoral war against another sovereign nation - that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States - to continue, all for the sake of OIL and WAR PROFITEERING. May God damn them all! -RKO- 08/25/07

No way are they getting anything GOOD accomplished. The ONLY thing they are accomplishing is advancing the fascist government goal of world domination and total control over people. I'd rate them a MINUS 10! The only decent ones in there are RON PAUL and Dennis Kucinich!

I would rate them a -10. If 0 was a do nothing congress, -10 is a congress that makes things worse. If you Look at the 10 most important issues of the day they have made everyone worse. Their approach to stopping the war has encouraged the enemy and interfered with Iraqis taking charge. Health care for those who cannot afford it has gotten worse on their watch. The budget deficit has gotten worse on their watch. Every day Social Security and Medicare become more insolvent. Global warming has gotten worse with no major program to begin slowing in growth of co2. They have done nothing to stop the special interest from distorting our democracy, taking more and more of our tax dollars and placing their key people in the halls of congress and on the governments payroll. I could go on and on!

I would give Nancy Pelosi and her minions a zero. They have done everything possible to undermine our troops and our President during a time of war. When have you ever heard someone in government come out and say that the war is lost during a war effort (Harry Reid)?

I would rate them at a 7.

They are honestly trying to do what they promised. But it's not easy when you have a President like Bush that vetoes every piece of legislation that comes across his desk.

However, they could be doing a lot more to get some things done.

With a hack like Dick Durbin in a position of leadership, would you expect anything good to happen?

A 7 since congress is trying to do what it can ... even if it does have it's downfalls, it'll get back to where it was before.

Compared to the rubber stamping, do nothing 109th. . .then they are a 10. The Congress will continue to improve over time.
