How about Truman? Dropping the bomb was an agonizing decision, but we would have lost hundreds of thousands of ground troops if we had to invade Japan. I don't think JFK had a chance to accomplish much, but the Cuban Missile crisis was big--even if the Bay of Pigs was a disaster. Since you said on a "bill", he'd be a sentimental favorite if he wasn't on a coin.

(By the way, Woodrow Wilson was on the $100,000).
First Choice: Theodore Roosevelt. He was a real character. Put him on the $20 and let Andrew Jackson sit on the bench awhile. The high-circulating bill will remind everyone of a true American.
Second Choice: Ronald Reagan - Our last truly conservative president. He ended the Cold War and had a moral center that made us strong. Put him on the $10. Hamilton won't mind.
Third Choice: Bill Clinton - Put him on the $0 dollar bill, for obvious reasons. He accomplished nothing. His legacy stands for nothing.
Fourth Choice: George W. Bush on the $3 Bill. An odd bill for an oddball. He is a stuffed-shirt giving jobs and money away to his buddies and cronies, nothing more. No one will want to have a $3 for anything, anyway, so it suits his legacy.

Not Reagan, people just wanna say that cuz he died recently.
Not Truman either, he purposely discredited an American War Hero- Gen. MacArthur b/c he was a wimpy politician scared of possibly losing to an actual Hero of War.
Hey since Franklin is on the 100 and he wasn't even a President, maybe we should follow this example?
Choose great contributers to society. I like the Bill Gates one. Perhaps other humanitarians. We should definitely choose more than just an elected official who did his job, served his time, and accomplished some war stuff.

The only 20th century American presidents on currency are FDR on the dime and JFK on half dollar coin. No 20th century presidents are on paper currency.
