Why is there a government embargo on Cuba, but not china?

Yeah, very good question. The feud of America with Cuba goes all the way back to Kennedy when the people thought communism was a bad thing. I think, (as people have said before) that Cuba is, quite simply put, a small, insignificant nation that really isn't a threat to the US.

In today's world, everything is about money. And I believe anyways that China does not have a trade embargo b/c so much of America's economy depends on China and is rooted in China. China has cheap labor, companies want to invest in a new market. To many businessmen and women, China is quite simply put, a gold mine.

If we were to put a government embargo on China, what would we do with all the economy that we lose? Invest it in India? Although people already invest in India a lot. China's just there, and America depends too much upon it to quite simply pull out.

Cause both China and US would sufferer greatly economically if an embargo was set up. Also China has a ton of ICBMs pointed at China 2....as well as almost every country in the world ally or not.

Cuba is only 90 miles from the coast of the US and had missiles pointed toward the US (hence the Cuban Missile Crisis). Of course that was in the 1960's.
China may now have missiles, but have they made threats to the US? I don't know---but I do know that a lot of US missionaries are killed in China. Cuba doesn't let missionaries in.

Personally, I cannot forget what happened in The Bay of Pigs and what Castro did to the bodies of our American Men who perished.

I believe it was John F. Kennedy that screwed up relations with Cuba.
We should have an embargo with China. I have a friend from there and he says that China is not really communist. He is here in the States and a very smart guy.

Let's say that you're out shopping for a new flat screen TV. The one on the left is American made,(fat chance). It sells for $3400. In the middle is a very similar Japanese one for $2900. But on the right is an almost identical TV made with forced child labor in China. You can buy this one for $999. Which would you buy? Me too. If all the Chinese goods were removed from our stores shelves we would have a terrific selection of shelves to look at. Now, what can Cuba do for us? Smoking is politically incorrect. We can get sugar from other places. We've already got Gloria Estefan.

Good question.
Heaven knows China needs our money. Almost everything we buy was made there. I think they'd be in bad shape if that stopped. But I think it might make America wake up and start making their own products again. Funny how people like to buy "made in China" so they can save twenty cents while taking the risk of dying from tainted products.

Because Fidel Castro still lives and he's a totalitarian dictator. I was born in 1953 and remember listening to the Radio every morning as a child. After Castro took over he would have about 80 people rounded about and shot by firing squad every night.
