I was pondering that question this morning and couldn't think of a single one. Even the vaunted Greeks with their original democratic ideas were the product of many years of war. It would seem that the idea of peace, especially on a global level, is one that is more of a utopian dream than reality.

The impression I have is that those who preach peace are granted the ability to do that via the hard fights of others and have always been a minor subset of society. Not to say that it isn't a wholly desirable thing, but it doesn't seem to be a realistic way to think.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/05/29/bush.immigration/index.html

"Republicans are getting an earful on immigration. "I have learned some new words from some of my constituents," Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Arizona, said.

The angry response comes as a shock. "The level of intensity and volume is, I think, surprising,'' CNN contributor and radio talk show host Bill Bennett said. "We've talked to a number of Republican senators, and they confessed to being surprised by the reaction."

Can you believe that our senators would be so out-of-touch to not realize what a massive issue this is? Have they completely lost touch with what is happening in this country. Do they understand that 50 million more illegal immigrants are coming soon? Do they care about us at all anymore?

A free market is a market where the price of an item is arranged by the mutual consent of sellers and buyers, with the supply and demand of that item not being regulated by a government (see supply and demand); the opposite is a controlled market, where supply and price are set by a government.

Is the US a Free Market Economy????

Last I checked international affairs were up to the president and the executive branch. But Pelosi is traveling the world and acting like she has some kind of power outside the U.S. As the house speaker she still doesnt have the right to be going around undermining foreign policy which she doesnt even make. Besides its a waste of our tax dollars for us to be paying for her traveling adventures. I think she over stepping her authority and spitting on the constitution. What do you think?
