Retired people have free time, great life-long wisdom, and may even need to make the extra money (even though it's quite a little amount; remember many NEED all the help they can get for those expensive subscriptions)--they will likely gain some pride and dignity, as well. In some cultures (present & past), the elders govern EVERYTHING) I believe it would be a GREAT way to show respect.

Besides, when you take a working person out of production, you slow the economy and hurt businesses.

The other night I was leaving a movie theater with my boyfriend and I was pulled over. The officer said he pulled me over because my license plate frame was partially covering one of the letters on the license plate. When he came up to the window he asked me to get out of the car and he showed me the plate. Then he asked me if I had been drinking, where I was coming from, going to, etc. I told him no drinking, coming from the movies, etc. Then he had me follow the flashlight with my eyes, took my pulse three times once on my wrist, then my arm, then my neck, made me close my eyes and "imagine what 30 seconds would be." Never asked for an i.d. Finally he asked my boyfriend for his i.d. Had him get out of the car. Asked me how long we had been together, did we like the movie, etc. Then asked to search the car. I said yes, he did and he searched my purse. Never asked me for i.d. or registration. Then just told me I could go. All this took over an hour. Is this normal?

Taj Mahal is a place that every foreigner wants to see when he or she visits India. When he visits area surrounding Taj he sees a different world. Borcken roads, central channel, buffaloes roaming every where, beggers, flowing sewage etc. Have Indians lost their self pride, can't they decorate 1 square km area around their national monuments. They even dont think what impression the foreign tourists will have for their nation. Have Indians lost their self pride.

Why? Well, I was listening to one on the news the other day, someone who won't ever be President, and I thought of how I *always* like what that senator has to say.

OK, here are the ground rules... first rule is the most important (hence the longest):

1) NO candidates for President, please
--- Here's your chance to show that you have depth and savvy and are not just a slave to the pol-as-celebrity media circus and the publicity machines.
--- Besides, it would be boring to read "McCain", "Clinton", and "Obama" over and over again.

2) Current senators only - Alan Simpson and George Mitchell might have been fun in their day, but we're in 2007.

3) Just list name, state, party, and the reason for your answer.

4) Just worry about your OWN answer - demerits for attacking someone else's favorite.

BEST ANSWERS will be those that make a POSITIVE statement - after all, you're saying who's YOUR favorite.

The military might of Iran and it's people is vested in thousands of years of existance. They have a population of 70 million compared to Iraq's 10 million. Any type of mass offensive in the region would COMPLETELY STOP the oil flowing out of the middle east for THE WORLD causing the price to skyrocket as noted. How big of a reserve tank is in your back yard?

Just look how close Bush came to pre-emptively striking and count your blessings that cooler heads prevailed.

Should Bush (i dont address him as president of the USA)go to the gallows for conspiring the whole world into a war zone and debating on crimes, forcng democracy ,on conspiracy ,on targeting mass people to death by killing them on suspect of a terrorist (only 1 or two in number )but bringing down great destruction on people whom he thinks and correctly conspires as terrorists and a danger to the freedom of the people of america, creating clashes between two sects as a perfect reason to stay back long enough to empty its wealth and infrastructure,,in the belief of bringing law and order to the country,to rule other countries by dividing their own people,to creat self destruction of one or two good american citizens and blame it on terrorists organization,,,,,,,,,,,its like killing two birds with one arrow ,,, i could keep on giving reasons to justify my Q but lets see your feed backs

I have jury duty on Thursday...and today I got an e-mail from my Chemistry teacher telling me that on Thursday we have a test. I can't go to jury duty because if I do i'll miss the exam and I need to pass this class in order to transfer this Fall. I was talking to my sister about it and she said she could go as me to jury duty. She is not in school right now and she is willing to spend the whole day in court for me. Do you think they'll know is not me?
