if this is implemented.. it would be a disaster.. already the number of child abuses and rape cases are on the rise..
and leaving a 'girl' child to government authorities would ruin the child's life.
Instead according to me, incentives should be given to bring up a girl child...
sumthing like a Tax Deduction scheme would be the most attractive...atleast people wont kill the fetus that way....
and a greater awareness among the populace is equally important..probably most important..

That would be a sex ratio of 0.933. Indeed that is very low. What can be done about it? Abondon customs like enormous dowries. Value a girl as much as a boy. Get educated.
I understand these things won't change easily, in 20 years or so the problem will solve itself, when there will be far too many men, and it will be extremely hard for some to find a woman. This will lead to girls becoming more favoured and so the problem will resolve itself. But in the meantime many frustrated, undereducated young men may cause many problems....
