There is no excuse for trying to get out of jury duty. It is your civic responsibility. If everyone though like you do, our trial-by-jury system would fail.

Excuses are like a**holes, everyone has one and they all stink.
No excuse will exempt you from jury duty. Not even financial hardship. The last time I served, there was a woman 39 weeks pregnant and she still had to show up.
Think nothing will happen if you don't show up for jury duty? Our local municipal court has started issuing warrants for those who don't show up.
As suggested above, you could try to say you know the judge well. But then when the judge says he doesn't know you and requires you to say specifically how you know him, you just got yourself busted for perjury.
If you claim to know someone involved in the case, again you will have to specifically say how. If you can't or it doesn't check out, you just got yourself busted for perjury that way too.

Finander ... Each court/jurisdiction has a different policy. You won't find the correct answer here in Yahoo Answers. Why don't you just contact the court and ask them? Then you'd know for sure.
Certainly you're not trying to get excused on a pretense, are you? No, I trust you aren't.
