I have jury duty on Thursday...and today I got an e-mail from my Chemistry teacher telling me that on Thursday we have a test. I can't go to jury duty because if I do i'll miss the exam and I need to pass this class in order to transfer this Fall. I was talking to my sister about it and she said she could go as me to jury duty. She is not in school right now and she is willing to spend the whole day in court for me. Do you think they'll know is not me?

there is a big possibility that they will know...but if the two of you guys are EXACTLY LOOK-A-LIKE they MAYBE they wont...but we are not still sure if they will not find out...the best thing you should do is to ask your teacher for consideration just plead to him and tell him that can you just take the exam on friday morning...just explain to him why you need to go to the jury duty im sure he'll understand...it would be better if you would not lie...

You are allowed to get off work for jury duty, so I figure that the school would have to be somewhat understanding. Just make sure and provide your teacher with documentation and you should be fine.

Before you decide to go through with your scheme be aware you and your sister if caught will be charged with contempt of court, jury tampering not to mention your actions may cause a reversal on appeal if discovered after a verdict has been rendered. You think you have headaches now, it's not worth it. I would think tests can be rescheduled especially when you are called upon to do your civic duty.

Look on the back of your order to go to jury duty. There should be a telephone # to call if you can't make it.

you have a right to make up the test at a different time so that you may fulfill your civic duty. if you miss jury duty, it could mean contempt of court and fines or even jail.
