Like In singapore. where national service is madatory for every male age 18yrs. during this point of time male sporting athletes do peak at this point of time during the 2 yrs in national service. Aint this wasting their talents? this sportsmen are representing their country and isnt this national service too? well if this continues, singapore would not have a large scale of sportsman representing singapore by the mid 20s.

I work in a community hall which is responsible for realisation of selfgovernmental rule( tending torender services satysfying local society needs and to versatile development of the community).
we have ellections for the new community major and for the members of community council.
I am also a member of village society society. and as a member of the society i will organize a political debate for all the canditates for the seats. and here comes the problem: my boss is so against it ( he wants to be elected again) said I am plotting agains him . all the employees are against it too. thay all just want ot keep their not-to-much do do work with not to demending boss. they all, including my boss, don't give a damn about the development of the community.
so here is the question? what do you think about it? are debates popular in the place where you live? do you take part in it? thanks.

Moral excellence comes about as a result of habit. We become just by doing just acts, temperate by doing temperate acts, brave by doing brave acts. Do you know who said it? Frogspeaceflower is very tired, Good Night to all of you!

I know its your right not too, but it would certianly benefit you if you do.
Places of low income and high crime are usually places where there are low voter turnouts, BUT IF THERE WERE high voter turnouts the politicians will want to spend more money in that area on roads and education.

-------------------------------------------------
For twelve years, Republicians have tried to
divide us--race against race--so we get mad
at each other and not at them. They want us
to look at each other across a racial divide
so we don't turn and look to the White House
and ask, Why are all of our incomes going down?
Why are all us losing jobs? Why are we losing our future?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The road to tyranny, we must never forget, begins with
the destruction of the truth."
-----------------------------------------------------------
"For too long we've been told about 'us' and 'them.'
Each and every election we see a new slate of arguments
and ads telling us that 'they' are the problem, not 'us.'
But there can be no 'them' in America. There's only us."

Please list the ideas and issues that you think of when you hear this topic. I recently wrote about this and I am curious to see what everyone else has to say. What issues pop up when granting confidentiality to birth mothers? What issues arise when taking away the confidentiality that they have been guaranteed by law?

So we've got a number of pots brewing right now. We've got our occupation of Iraq, our potential invasion of Iran, and a potential attack by North Korea. Sound like we're going to need quite a number more troops. Where will they come from? If a draft were to occur I would do everything in my power to dodge it. How about you? Perhaps if Wisconsin (where I live) were being invaded and people I know were threatened. But that would be a crazy circumstance. Other then that I can't imagine allowing myself to be put in that situation. I would feel like I was fighting for the wrong things. Maybe even for the wrong side, in some circumstances. What do you think?

very often we hear that some phycho has entered a school and shot down small children. when we see or hear this news, we all are shocked, but is there nothing else that we can do about that.

why not just ban these weapons from being sold out in the open and deny access to the general public. why not have a very strict policy of issuing licence. won't this at least curb voilence to a certain extent. why should we live in the fear of having to confront some stranger who might be armed and might cause destruction to life and property. can't something be done about it.

The Bush Administration has consistently written in new laws and amendments to abolish your freedoms, yet people still support them. Your right to protections under habeas corpus have been destroyed. You can be wiretapped and tortured and kept in prison forever without trial. Voting machines are rigged so that elections can be handed over to whomever bought the machines.

Some people allow operatives and sympathizers on this board to convince that all of this is OK. Don't they know that all the Administration has to do is to implement these laws and your freedoms will be over in 2007? Why are people going on with their lives as if none of this isn't happening?

you attend as a protestor of a debate between Stickland and Blackwell for governor of Ohio tonight. After everyone leaves, you go back to catch them leaving. the minute you get there, a policeman leaves his car & goes into the building and another gets on the phone. Your activist friend (1/2 block down...peaceably standing with a sign--it's just the 2 of you now--all you have done is stand there w/sign) is approached by security from the tv station. He shows her a paper with 3 pictures of her on it-pictures from 3 agencies (highway patrol/dept of public safety and another place) & tells her she is a known troublemaker...just out of the blue like that..looked up her picture from her standing there in the dark (9:30 PM) I'm thinking WTF--am I on a list too just for protesting and being an anti Bush activist? When did protesting & expressing your civil rights become worthy of sticking you on lists as a troublemaker. Should I keep doing it & how can I find out if I am on a list somewher
