We used to be the land of the free and home of the brave. We're not anymore. As to freedom...anyone notice we lost habeous corpous? That's a biggie from the Bill of Rights...so free is gone. As for Brave...don't make me laugh..we're willing to give our rights to the Bush administration because we're so scared of terrorism. And the Bushies do love to issue terror threats at strategic times...because they know they can scare us because we SCARE EASY. You can never be 100% safe...no matter what...not even if we had someone competent in office would we be 100% safe. That's not real life.
Benjamin Franklin said something to the effect of "Those who would give up liberty for security, deserve neither." Now we're neither safe, nor free...nor sadly...apparently all that brave.

I don't feel near as free as I used to in this country. I recently returned from a Holland/ Italy trip, and it made it that much more apparent how paranoid and ridiculous this "Security" issue is becoming. Amsterdam airport is the only one who asked to see my marriage license, as my boarding pass and Passport did not have the same name.
But thankfully, the US Minnesota airport stole my lipstick, and an empty dufflebag.
I do not feel free here. But I feel brave enough to fight to regain my freedoms.

Absolutely. God Bless America. This country has allowed me to live free. I can say whatever I want as long as I am not hurting anyone. I can travel anytime, anywhere with no curfew. And yes, we are brave. We have protected this nation with strength and dignity.
