All this talk about bias News stations ... I am just wondering who watches news versus reading a newspaper.

I personally prefer reading articles as its slightly more indepth and not just 2 minutes of headlines.

If so, what newspaper do you read or other news source.

The network news (ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN) would have you believe that the economy is not good.

Even with all the money that goes into the war we are doing great! Personal debt has gone down. Yet there is so much that needs to be done.

After 911 the Dow went down to 7,000.

Prior to 911 web based companies were closing left and right, prior to Bush be sworn in!
I know this because I lived in Seattle WA and delivered a lot office supplies to web based companies that went belly up!

The Dow is nearing on 12,000 showing that the economy is strong and has recovered!

Unemployment is at 3.7% the lowest in history.

The Trade deficit has been CUT IN HALF 3 years ahead of scheduled.
AHEAD OF SHEDULE.

The tech industry that got US in trouble the last time for lying to investors is now moving at a decent rate! Sure those jobs don’t pay the same that they use to, but they were filled with corruption and little productivity.

Soon it will be an employees market.

President Bush said that tax cuts would help us, and help the economy. He never reduced spending but increased it in education, and military.

WHAT HAPPEN?

So I was sitting there the other day watching my girlfriend change the oil in my car, and I was getting pissed because she kept struggling when she tried to unscrew the filter. I was even more pissed than usual because I was playing videogames as I supervised her from inside the house, until I finally had to put the controller down and go outside to yell at her.

I stood out there in my underwear on a Saturday morning screaming at the top of my lungs. Then my neighbor, who's a total pussy, comes by and says "you shouldn't be yelling at your girlfriend like that." I wasn't going to stand there and just take it, so I socked him one right in the colon. His wife was bringing groceries inside when this happened, and as if it wasn't bad enough that I had to stop playing video games to go outside and yell, now this ***** was screaming at me like it was my fault.

I couldn't understand what she was shrieking about, as she was flapping her arms in the air and screaming. She started crying when she saw the busted colon I gave her pussy husband, so she took one of her shoes off and threw it at me. I caught the shoe between my pecs and I started to laugh like a pirate. Then she started walking towards me to take her shoe back, and there was no way I was going to let this ***** get near my chest so I body slammed her into a cactus that happened to be there. She got up and was uglier than before, so I did what I always do when women start to cry: I went back inside to play video games.

That wasn't the end of it though, it turns out the cranky old hag across the street saw all of this going on, so she came over to do what women do best: *****. When I opened the door she was standing there in a partly transparent night gown, and it totally ruined the prospect of having a ***** for at least 50 years. I was just starting to change my mind about the night gown when she started screeching at me and her stupid cat that she was holding started to hiss. So I took the cat and punted it over my neighbor's fence. She started crying "oh no! My cat! What have you done with my cat?!" I was laughing my *** off, then the ***** tried to scratch me so I gave her a round house kick and dislocated her hip. I was laughing so hard I **** my pants.

OK, let's see if I have this right.
You do not pay any Federal Taxes, so you don't care about the $9 trillion in debt ran up by Republicans over the next ten years. You will not pay it. Others will pay it. Mostly younger people, the working class tax payers. The wealthy who got the tax cuts under Republicans will not pay it. Those that got a Capital Gains tax cut will not pay it. Your stock investments are tax free. So you don't care about Debt. Not your problem.

You are not in Iraq now fighting in the Republican war. You are willing to send others to fight and die there for "Nation Building" or some say "fighting Terrorism" or some say help them become a "Democracy". Not many now say "Saddam has WMDs" or "Saddam was a evil Dictator" that's old stuff. You are not willing to pay the $2 trillion cost of the Republicans war. You are willing to let others pay that also. After all more people die from Auto accidents than the 2757 dead Americans in Iraq and the 30,000 wounded is not your problem. The over 300,000 some say 650,000 dead civilians in Iraq is also not your problem. So you don't care about Iraq. Not your problem.

You also don't care about the 44 million Americans with no basic Health Insurance. After all Half are Women and Children. WE know you don't care about them. Women should not have 6 kids. Not your problem.
You want to end Social Security for 33 million Americans. Now there is a worthy Republican goal. You hate Social Security. Let them Starve and live in the streets and take away there health care for you. After all why should you care it's not your Mother or Father. Not your problem.

A Republican here in Ohio wrote the States largest paper. The Dublin Ohio resident said "every Ohio State Buckeye game should be televised", taking the Ohio State Vs Indiana game off TV is a serious problem in our great State of Ohio and the Nation".
Ahhh, you do care about Football games on TV.

Neocons keep saying "Democrats have no plan, we do have a plan it's called "kick the bums out".
Hillary also has her own plan, you should read it.

What would our political system be like if we did not have parties? Suppose we voted as purely American citizens, using our own judgements on the issues. It seems to me that our party system has turned into nothing more than an excuse for name-calling and passing the buck. I refuse to be catergorized with any group. We have allowed corporations and special interest groups to dictate our laws and we have a government completely out-of-touch and seemingly ignorant of the real needs of this country. And all you hear is one party blaming the other . This country is made up of real people with real concerns . Maybe what we need is real people representing us!

I think that the concept is devisive and patronising to black people. I think that it has more relevance in America, due to its history. Why should Britain set apart blacks and celebrate "their history" and no-one else's? (Also, who qualifies as "black"?) Is this just another example of Britain pandering to America?

So, to even pose questions about political questions, many people's first response is for me to SHUT UP.

The SECOND most popular response is for me to read a book, do some research, get educated, etc.

The irony is that I am almost finished with my PhD--and I have two masters degrees, and, obviously the bachelors degree. I read, research, and get educated as a way of life.

What else must I do, before my questions are taken seriously?
