Even before Bush was elected, I saw this comming. I always felt compelled to have both parties in washington as each has valuable ideals. Now, I'm not sure I EVER want to vote for a Republican again. I'm feeling like if it wasn't for Democrates we would be in a communist country without ANY constitutional rights, as they continue to;
1. Break laws and not get punished for it.
2. Change the law to only favor their party.
3. Kill my chances of EVER retireing.
4. Refuse to offer working adults any safety in healthcare benifits.
5. Refuse to pass laws that force enviromental protection and independence from foreign oils.
6. Tell me when, where, and IF I can pray and continue to force their own religious rights, while stepping on mine. (seperation of church and state?)
One last question.. Do all Republicans feel that war is good for the economy?

This freedom thing is coming back to haunt America.

Now we have given them the freedom to kill each other over archaic sectarian laws.

My friend is in a popular band and has sold out all of their concerts in the past 2 years. A manager at a venue recently signed a contract with the band to perform 2 concerts in one evening for $50,000 total. The manager rented the venue, paying a non refundable guarantee of $10,000. The manager anticipated selling out both shows and hoped for over $100,000 in profit. A short time later my friend and his band told the manager that they were breaching and would not perform. The manager had not incurred any additional expenses and my friend and his band offered to pay the $10,000 to reimburse the manager for the deposit on the venue. The manager refused to accept the $10,000 and sued my friend and his band for $100,000 in lost profits as consequential damages. If the manager wins, what would they receive as damages?

Hear me out, this isn't as barmy as it sounds - nor is it asked to annoy or offend anyone.
Under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (in the UK), the definition of terrorism has been expanded to include anyone who "damages property for religious, political or idealistic reasons".
If he was alive today, would that make his overturning of the moneylenders' stalls an act of terrorism? Remember he was peeved because of the insult they caused to his Father's house...

IF we can see the logic of a terrorism charge for the beardy sandal-wearing one, then what about the clause that forbids the "glorification of terrorism" in British law? Does that mean that if the law were to make any sense at all, sales of the New Testament should be outlawed by the State?

Thanks to Mark Thomas for pointing that one out...

Our laws are applicable to anyone that commits a crime in this country. The rights in our justice system also apply. I'm not talking about diplomatic immunity, that is altogether different.

Hi. I'm currently studying for a law degree and am in my final year. However, about 2 and a half years ago i was given a formal caution for travelling with a child travelcard. I thought there was a fine system in place but oh well. The police told me they were doing their annual run of trying to prosecute everyone they could find. Ironically, i was on my way to uni that day. However now, i have to apply for student membership with the Law Society (to become a solicitor) as you have to apply before you start your LPC. Im really worried they will reject me. I have so much regret over what happened, and i think i fell below the standards expected of me because my dad had been admitted into hospital the week earlier because of risk of heart attack. I'm really upset and i've worked so hard at university and stuff. I don't want it to go to waste. I've even done a lot of voluntary work, e.g, im a witness service volunteer - i work at the crown court! Anyone know my chances?

My friend owns a restaurant in the city. The newspaper reported that the city entered into a contract with a construction company to build a convention center across from my friends restaurant. My friend figured that business was going to increase due to the convention center so my friend leased additional space and expanded the restaurant. A few days later the city announced that the construction company breached the contract but decided not to sue them but to build the center in another part of town. My friend wants to sue the construction company to recover what she spent to expand the restaurant on the grounds that she was a third party beneficiary of the contract between the construction company and the city. Will my friend win?

When I say teens, I mean teens from ages 13-17. So should teens have the right to vote? I mean they are citizens or this country and should have a say of what happens to themselves. But maybe teens arent ready to do something like this. What do you guys think? What are the pros/cons of teen voting. Please support with facts. And think about it from both perspective; teens and adults.

Thanx!!!

I am a senior in high school, and this past weekend my mom went out of town. Friday night i had a party with about 50 people at my house, which went all night without a hitch (there was alot of drinking and some marijuana use involved). Saturday night, I hosted another party, which was broken up by 3 cops about 2 hours in. They said that they had recieved a call from the neighbors regarding the noise (I don't know which neighbors). They had us dump all of the alcohol and let the guests leave. They then took down my sister and my names, ages, birthdays, and phone number. They then told us that they would be watching the house, and the next time would result in an arrest. It is now Sunday, and my mom has returned. We have not been caught. I would like to know how long I need to wait before having another party. P.S. please take this question seriously, thanks!

Ok. This boy comes up and punches me for no reason at all and then runs the other way. I went and told the vice principal on him, and he got suspended for 10 days. Then later on when he returns, he claims to other people that it was an accident, or he turns it the other way and he has like 3 versions of the story going around. Then the teachers said he's not aloud to be in the same room as me, so I tell my friends and then the boy says that I'm lying about it and he won't just come and confront me about it. Then he passed a message to me saying that I better have a good lawyer because he's sewing me for getting him suspended when it was his fault. I passed a message back saying if it went to court I was going to make sure and put a 1000 feet restraining order on him which would be good because he's obsessed with killing, and Hitler. I had already promised the vice principal that I wouldn't talk about it when he came back, but he's making it hard on himself because he's doing it.

Our neighbors and my parents are always fighting about the driveway in the winter, they don't like it that we use salt and sand to help us drive up the steep hill... But The neighbor parks his huge truck in the part of the driveway that is common and uses our side of the common drive to drive up? Does he have the right to do that? And do we have any rights to putting down sand and salt? We live in Southbury, CT -USA Not sure if laws are different elsewhere? My dad wants to eventually get the land surveyored and then build a fence on our land and make our driveway seperate until then we want to know our rights to the common shared driveway

A friend of mine who still has a windshield business lost most of financial resources through his wife who took all his money out of their joint account, took his daughter and then filed for divorce. Under the circumstances, he could not retrieve the money that he used for his business. During the divorce, he agreed to pay her 1,200 a month for spousal and child support. She is now suing him for 2,400 a month that is even more then he is able to make. He missed two payments because he did not make enough. The courts are threatening to send him to jail. If he does go to jail, how long would he be in for. In two years his daughter will be 18, if he fled the country would he still be liable to pay the money he owes? Is there a law that prevents someone from paying more then he can afford? I would be most pleased if someone can answer these questions. My friend is very desperate for some quick answers.
