I was recuntly vacationing in Thailand and was having a political conversation with and incredibly intelligent man from Denmark. He was very well educated on american politics but he had one question that I could not explain well. He said that most Europeans don't understand why americans are so obsessed with guns and why they make it such a big political issue like it is the only thing that matters in government. He said that in most European countries it is legal to own guns but most people just don't care either way. It it in our constutution that the right exists and no one plans to change the constitution. Even if some one did try it would take a president to agree and like 2/3 of congress and senate to make the change. So why are so many americans obsessed and why do they vote like this is the only thing that really matters??

My father is mentally ill and in a supported living program.
Once a week for the last year he has been participating in an art class put on by the supported living program's Social club.
This past month there was an art show at a gallery featuring His and some of the other aduts(In the program) art work. All the paintings had a price tag of $65.00. He sold three of his paintings and was very proud of himself, it gave him a nice self esteem boost. The art gallerey gets 20% which i can understand. Now, this is what bugs me, the program that he is in is also taking 20%. This orginization is state funded and gets funds from united way as well. Also, he is only getting an SSI check and that just barely covers his bills. should these people really have the right to take a 20% cut?

If this is true...explain the video....and give as specific of an example (of Democrats) as this is of Giuliani and his connections to various groups in the Middle East, including those that actually harbor terrorists. Why does an American liberal, believing in the Constitution and individual rights compare to what Giuliani , a Republican presidential candidate, has done.

People disagree with your government and your policies, and feel they are rather dictatorial and that you are not following the constitution, you are manipulating the electoral process and stealing elections. Russians citizens call you out and speak out against you and you arrest them just for protesting and smear them as fifth columnist spies of the USA as Putin is doing...where else have we seen these smear tactics before??

I could never agree with it. Because the whole point of punishing someone is so that they would understand their mistakes and suffer the consequences of their action. But the death penality doesn't teach the person anything. U just let the person die and they never learn anything. Ya, u can eliminate that person from the society but... i believe that u can punish someone but the God only has the power to play with someones life. If he gave the life, no one has the power to take it.

My ex husbands name has never been put on my daughters birth certificate, she is 13 years old now but it was proven in court that he is the father. He has never been involved in her life and has only paid six months of child support in all of 13 years, is there some legal way that 1. I can get a passport for her without his written permission, 2. can I get her name changed without his permission, and 3. can my fiance' legally adopt her, giving her his last name without my ex husbands permission ? The USA is in a sturggle between socialism and capitlalism. After 911, socialists were horrified the USA pulled together and united. Like vampires in sunlight, you could see the socialists shrieking and frustrated that the country was uniting.

If Bush was wrong to go into Iraq, how in the world does this mean anything about socialism has become validated?

The liberal media won't report or acknowledge what we all know is true, the USA is in a struggle between capitalism and socialism- make no mistake of that.
