No, I would not sit still and let socialists take over our country. It's a good thing there isn't a realistic chance of that happening anytime soon. Sorry, but I believe the only struggle going on here is that far right conservatives want to control everyone and everything they see, and far left liberals hate to feel as though they, or anyone else, is being controlled.
That leaves millions of moderate Americans who are the real backbone of this country. They love capitalism, it keeps their cupboards full and new cars in their garages. They recognize how useful it is to have a limited amount of socialist programs in this capitalist society - like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid - and now Universal Health Care. Just as long as it doesn't get out of hand. So far it hasn't. No statues of Karl Marx in Washington. I think you are overreacting to too many references to "socialists" from the conservative media. Just my opinion.

Therein lies the problem. The so called liberals are socialists and the conservatives are fascists. This country is in deep doo-doo and people like you are blinded by Bush's rhetoric. Bush's ideals mock and spit in the face of the American spirit. He has overturned the constitution with his Patriot Act. Do you really believe that democracy can be enforced? If you do then you have no clue what Democracy is. But then You're not worried about democracy, you're worried about capitalism. They are not necessarily one in the same. While capitalism is a beautiful ideal, what we have today is a perverted form of that ideal.

Your little dissertation is completely false.
America did not unite after 9/11... Republicans did.
And they united against their fellow citizens like you are doing now.
Shame on you.

Better to let Greedy corporations over throw your way of life, Who needs peace when war makes them so much more money?
Who need liberty when one party dictatorship is so much better?
Who needs to earn a living and own a house when being unemployed and starving out in the street is so much more profitable for the few at the top?
Who needs democracy when Corporate Communism controlling our lives is so much better?

Why not just execute any public servant (yes that's from the president down to the local county commissioner) for any crime against the constitution.
That alone will fix our corruption problem, one way or the other.

I'm a socialist. All you're dropping are catchphrases, and it doesn't sound like you know what socialism is other than something that Fox News told you is bad. If you have a real objection to moderate socialism, let's hear it. Otherwise, stop talking nonsense.

I predict that America will soon have public libraries, fire departments, public policing, public infrastructure and public schooling. When the socialists have accomplished that much... there will be no turning back.
