the 5th amendment says a person cannot be"...deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.". When it says "property," can it be interpreted as dealing with businesses/corporations/money/etc (anything that has to do w/ the economy)?

now we were told that he would be out before closing and know that the former owner told him around nov 1st or 2nd that he needed to vacate cause the house because the house was beign sold to us. the termite guy and the apprasial guy commented on how rude he was saying he cant believe the house was sold out form underneath him. the first appraisal wasnt accepted so we hired a friend to do the appraisal and the tennant first told him that it had already been done and that he wasnt getting in but finally let him in and started ranting about the house beign sold. now from the termite guy to now hes been told and known that the house wad sold we put eviction notice on the doors and got a letter from his lawyer saying he wasnt properly notified. does a verbal eviction have any legal standings and other than a 30 day from me any other options in arkansas

I am joining the Coast Guard, and I already have my associates degree. Anyway, I was wondering what is life like there? How are the people? When they do the security background check before you join, do they give you a lie detector test? Is it a somewhat easy job? Please, no smart *** answers..Thank you

Presidential Candidates? I have seen this referred to in several questions on YA and Mike Huckabee has never been clearly disconnected from this organization.
Mike has never been associated with the CFR! Does that help you support him if RP does not make the ticket?

http://www.criticalreactor.com/2007/07/30/cfr-the-2008-presidential-candidates-pt-2/
Which 2008 Presidential Candidates are members of the CFR?
Fred Thompson (?)
Michael Bloomberg (?)
Rudy Giuliani
John McCain
Mitt Romney
Jim Gilmore
Newt Gingrich
Hillary Clinton
Barack Obama
John Edwards
Joe Biden
Chris Dodd
Bill Richardson
Candidates Gravel, Kucinuch and Ron Paul are NOT a members of the CFR and Paul has stated that he will not allow the Presidency to become entangled with them.

Wow. It was shocking watching the Youtube debate tonight. I feel very uneasy about the direction this country is going, and guys debating tonight scare the crap out of me. This country needs to get someone in office that wants to END war and try to bring peace by TALKING to these people. Is John Mccain a human being? He is the coldest person I have ever seen. How could he think that we are winning the war? IF you want to listen to someone, listen too someone like Ron Paul. He makes some sense...Or vote for Hillary or Obmama ( spell????)

What happens in a case where someone has been charged with a crime but the victim has left the state and can no longer be found? Will the case be dismissed? If it is not, can there be a mistrial because doesn't the person who has been accused have a right to question the victim?

WASHINGTON - U.S. fourth-graders have lost ground in reading ability compared with kids around the world, according to results of a global reading test.

Test results released Wednesday showed U.S. students, who took the test last year, scored about the same as they did in 2001, the last time the test was given — despite an increased emphasis on reading under the No Child Left Behind law.

Still, the U.S. average score on the Progress in International Reading Literacy test remained above the international average. Ten countries or jurisdictions, including Hong Kong and three Canadian provinces, were ahead of the United States this time. In 2001, only three countries were ahead of the United States.

The 2002 No Child Left Behind law requires schools to test students annually in reading and math, and imposes sanctions on schools that miss testing goals.

The U.S. performance on the international test of 45 nations or jurisdictions differed somewhat from results of a U.S. national reading test, the National Assessment of Educational Progress, known as the nation's report card. Fourth-grade reading scores rose modestly on the most recent version of that test, taken earlier this year and measuring growth since 2005. During the previous two-year period, scores were flat.

I know the obvious answer. Everybody wants to believe that they are independent thinkers. But analyze yourself a little deeper. Our opinions are constantly being shaped by the world around us. Most of what we think we know was discovered or taught to us by others. We are constantly bombarded by ads and poll results. Why do interest groups and media outlets invest in polls if we are all such independent thinkers that care nothing for the opinions of others? Truth is I believe, most voters have a herd mentality. Irregardless of your political affiliation, most people subconsciously want to vote for a winner. So the polls are used as another way to tell us who we should be voting for. What say you?
