My husband and I hired a lawyer to enter on a not guilty dwi case. My husband already went to court and entered his plea. It was set to go to trial. We hired a lawyer to go with him to trial. Trial date was rescheduled by the lawyer. Lawyer did not inform us on the new trial date, and did not go to court. Now there is a bond revocation hearing. The lawyer told the bondsman one thing, us another. He told us that he entered a guilty plea and had the license suspended for a year. We know for a fact that this is the outcome we would have gotten if we hadn't hired a lawyer. We could have done this on our own. What can we do? The lawyer wants $700 for two 20 minute phone calls, and changed my husband's plea without telling us.

There's been a lein on my truck from my best ol' ex-friend Farrel Pride of Pride shady cars in sturgeon mo since I bought it from him 2 years ago. Through his shady, lying, deviant ways I stopped making payments. The truck is half paid for and I've not driven it since the deal went sour. I've also done alot of work to it. Can I charge storage and get a mechanics lein myself, or a salvage title. He makes no effort to reposess it, or come to a compromise. I suggested donating it to the church, but he's a greedy money grubbing S.O.B and I want some closure. The vehicle is in great shape, but nothing but a yard ornament.

Does anyone know of two states that handle the same crime differently? If you know a website that is, dedicated to this type of research, I would appreciate it if you could share the link. For example if I was in Ohio and stole a car, I would spend six years in prison. If I was in North Carolina and got caught with the same crime, I would only serve two years. Can someone please give me web link where the states have different laws for the same crime?

Can a US citizen enter Canada as a visitor with the intention of marrying a Canadian, then take the Canadian legally back into the US, and fill out all the forms then?

I think in the US, the foreign national can only enter with the K-1 visa if they intend to marry and stay there.

Alternately if there was no application for a K-1 visa made, upon entering the US, would it would be fraudulent to declare the purpose of your visit a "visit" as opposed to a "wedding" even if I want to return to Canada afterwards?

I have several Canadian friends that married US citizens in Canada and then returned to the US with their new partner, (they are just required to stay in US until their petition is processed) is that shady?

Thanks so much for your help. I think I am getting the hang of how my fiance and I can get married...

"I’m pleased to be with you this evening to talk about the anti-immigrant movement in America, and why I believe this movement endangers the single most important reason for American greatness, namely, the renewal, reformation and reawakening that’s provided by the continuous flow of immigrants.”

more~~~

Giuliani continued: “I believe the anti-immigrant movement in America is one of our most serious public problems.” It can “be seen in legislation passed by Congress and the president.” (Republicans had just passed a welfare reform law that restricted benefits to legal immigrants.) “It can be seen in the negative attitudes being expressed by many of the politicians.”

How many votes do you think George W. and Dick Cheney got in the last election just from their name combination? I believe that some people on the fence subconsciously voted for them based on their name. Especially the perverts. Do you think my theory has any value?

My mom wants to send my brother to juvenile hall..don't even know if she can do that. He doesn't go to school. He is rarely home and I know for fact he is running around with the older gangsters and they're most likely using him to do things..he's only 14!! Has a tattoo on his back! Family is constantly worried and stress. He comes home to change and leaves. He snuck and deleted all of his friends numbers from my mom's cell. He was suppose to go to court with my mom in September for getting caught ditching, but he never shows up at home to even go..we don't know what to do! He lies constantly. And the direction he is going, we're afraid he will end up dead. ANy advice? we live in los angeles area..

I live on a street ofter considered a speed trap. Ofter when police stop a vehicle they position their patrol car directly in front of my driveway prohibiting access. This would be illegal for anyone else. I contacted my state representative who forwarded the question to the city police chief but I have heard nothing more. I fear that I was just entered into some sort of complainer database. Does anyone else have experience with this practice and what can be done?

They're new neighbours. I've introduced myself but they never talk and they run away when we are outside. (LOL).

They're building like a granny flat under their house or something without building permits. If it is a flat it will impact on my amenity by reason of the increased density, noise and parking requirements.

Should I dob them in to the authorities and let them handle it - putting my name on the public record? What would you do?

I worked in the training room 6th period and did not wish to continue working there for various reasons and my counselor won't allow me to drop my class unless, I write a letter of resignation to the teacher of the class I am dropping, the result of this drop would allow me to have 5 periods in which I am academically eligible to do.

This is a values question . . . While walking through Wal Mart I noticed several t-shirts for sale in the children's department with slogans such as "I refuse to do homework" or "Too cute to work." Considering that Wal-Mart is the largest retailer inside the United States, what does this say about our youth culture? What does this say about the parents who purchase such shirts? Keep in mind, Wal-Mart routinely refuses to carry music with offensive lyrics and blocks magazine covers with sheets of plastic if the cover is deemed to "racy." I thought it was an intersting economic statement . . . how about you?
