Officers stop in a position that is determined by where the violator stops. It is done for a myriad of safety concerns.
Don't worry though, they probably will never see your bong from the road.

Honestly, a traffic stop is the most dangerous thing I could ever do. Getting out of the cop car, I walk to an unknown car that could contain numerous weapons. I don't know who I'm dealing with or what they can do. My last concern is where I parked my cop car. Trust me, I finish the ticket as quickly as I can and try to get everyone along safely.
Cut cops a break.

Unless you can show that they specifically position their car to prohibit access and not in the appropriate position relative to the vehicle they just stopped you don't have much of a basis for a complaint.
Personally I would just be happy they are keeping people from speeding in my neighborhood.

First, cops do not always block residential driveways when stop a car.
Where the cop stops depends on where the speeder stops. Maybe if you would have contacted your local PD first, instead of contacting your representative, you could have had your compliant heard and resolved.

Let me get this right, you are inconvenienced by the police doing a job that will make your neighborhood street more safe and secure. Never been a big fan of the police, but whiners even less.

Nothing will be done. We don't try and block it, but our safety is our number one concern, not access to your driveway.
We stop where we need to behind the suspect. That's it.
