There's been a lein on my truck from my best ol' ex-friend Farrel Pride of Pride shady cars in sturgeon mo since I bought it from him 2 years ago. Through his shady, lying, deviant ways I stopped making payments. The truck is half paid for and I've not driven it since the deal went sour. I've also done alot of work to it. Can I charge storage and get a mechanics lein myself, or a salvage title. He makes no effort to reposess it, or come to a compromise. I suggested donating it to the church, but he's a greedy money grubbing S.O.B and I want some closure. The vehicle is in great shape, but nothing but a yard ornament.

No matter waht he did, you signed a contract that stated you would pay for the truck. You didn't finish doing that. You should be able to refinance the balance with another bank and resume making payments, taking that lein off the truck.

Technically, you bought the truck. Why on earth would you be able to charge storage fees to your vehicle? You're going to have to pay it off to get the lein removed, unless you take him to court for deceptive trade practices. Hire an attorney, or just suck it up, pay the dang thing off and do with it as you like.

The best way would be to pay the bill.
