Does anyone know of two states that handle the same crime differently? If you know a website that is, dedicated to this type of research, I would appreciate it if you could share the link. For example if I was in Ohio and stole a car, I would spend six years in prison. If I was in North Carolina and got caught with the same crime, I would only serve two years. Can someone please give me web link where the states have different laws for the same crime?

I don't think there is a centralized infraction Web site that compares crimes/punishments state by state. You would need to research the individual states by researching the General Statutes. And remember, the sentences are a range, depending on the circumstance, whether the criminal has a past record, etc.

Every state has its own laws and website, so there are fifty different sites that have their laws listed. The only way to do it is to look at each of the states you are curious about.
