7 years ago in 2000, I was arrested by the FBI. This was BIG news for my small, “non-ethnic” NJ town. Since release from Federal Prison (18 months white-collar crime), I’m a model citizen and a community leader: Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s Degree from FDU (Summa *** Laude) pursuing my Master’s Degree at 38 yrs old.

Today, arrested by a police officer who has it “out for me”. Went to Commerce Bank where a car accident (not me) in front entrance. 2 officers were on the scene. Walked past both into bank; 5 mins later, went to my car (25 ft) opened door when this officer appeared behind scaring me, saying “you have a warrant for your arrest”. Instant response “are you stalking me? How do you know this?” replied “and your license is suspended”. Quick facts: car registered in husband’s name; knew Officer from contact 7 years ago. Each time he sees me out (w/kids, wherever) runs warrant check. Warrant issued while in prison in my company name so he had to REALLY dig for this.(more)

the next President? I have tried to be as respectful to Bush as I possibly can because he is the President. But my gloves are off now. What is he thinking? We have completely exhausted the troops we have left and he signs a declaration with Iraq to keep us there permanently. I cannot believe this. He knows the largest percentage of Americans want out of Iraq. The man cares nothing about the will of the people. He has turned into a dictator.

In an interview with Fortune Magazine’s Nina Easton, Dick Cheney conceded that as Halliburton CEO he opposed unilateral sanctions on Iran, even though he now strongly supports them.

Cheney explained that as a private sector official, he didn’t have any responsibility to be concerned about the impact of his company’s dealings with Iran:

Q: You opposed unilateral sanctions on Iran when you were CEO of Halliburton.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: I did…That’s a whole set of considerations that a CEO doesn’t have to worry about, that a private company doesn’t have to worry about. But the President of the United States does.

Sometimes things just seemed so hard to understand.

John Howard seemed to be doing well in his office. The Australian economy is doing well. More people are employed. He also seemed to have a lot of suppporters.

Yet, he can loose the election. In fact, he not only lost the grip of government, he also lost his constituent seat. People just do not seem to want him.

Why?

I see there are a lot of older questions that address the life, process of becoming, jobs, etc. of a Naval Officer, but I wanted some fresh input.

I am graduating with a BS in Political Science and International Affairs (3.3 GPA) in May and have been thinking about trying to become an Officer in the Navy. I'm particularly interested in intelligence and public affairs. I'm talking to a recruiter soon, but I wanted to know if anyone could give me some pros and cons from personal experience about being an Officer. How competitive is my field of interest?

If anyone is willing to to share some wisdom it'd be much appreciated! Thanks.

With reference to the Cherokee Nation in Northern GA during the years preceeding the Trail of Tears. The Supreme Court ruled that Cherokees did not have to follow Georgia law- this has to be backed up in the constitution somewhere! Where in the constitution does it state this?

I agree with the death penalty in cases for the worst murderers however in other cases I support life without parole as an option for most cases of first degree murder. However it seems like texas executes over 30 people a year isnt it too much considering states like north carolina, florida, and georgia that have high death penalty rates only executes 3-5 inmates a year.

It seems to be part of the money problem the Pentagon is complaining about.

If We had more actual Combat troops would we be able to Win?

Oh the Source was Gen Tommy Franks he said we have 503,000 Men working at a 17 to 1 ratio.

This was because the Iraq war started in the middle of Rumsfeld's Transformation Policy.
