You can thank the French for winning at Tours or you'd be praying to Mecca everyday. Let's not forget that world conqueror Napoleon...altho in the end he did meet his Waterloo.
The US can win wars, its the occupation and insurgency fighting that gets us....

Correct the French have not won a fight since Napolean. They lost to the Nazi Germans in about a week. The most powerful thing that has come out of France were the Normans aka William the conquerer. He crushed the british at Hastings and the normans went on to rule most of europe and much of the middle east at least for hear and there for a time.
The US on the other hand has not lost with or with out help from our inseption in the 1770s until Vietnam. The Korean conflict is technically under a cease fire( the longest in history) so because the war hasn't ended it cannot be a win or loss. Vietnam was us cutting our own throat politically much like now. The number of wars we have fought and won is extensive: Revolutionary war, War of 1812, Spanish American war, CivilWar, WW1, WW2, Gulf war 1. Hope this helped

Both have, an example for America is Vietnam and Iraq war, in which America have won. For France you can start with Napoleon Bonaparte's conquest, which is a war.

France was once a military power, but that stopped after Napoleon.
USA have won everything except for Vietnam, which they didn't lose so much as politicians succumbed to the dope-smoker protests and decided that they wanted votes more than protection for South Vietnam and came to the consensus that it wasn't worth it anymore.
As fr Korea, technically it's still on. Declaration of war still stands, there's a "Temporary Ceasefire of Indeterminate Length".

The USA has won baisclly every war except Vietnam and Korea, though Iraq seems to be next.
France hasn't won a war since Napolean died. Ever since then England or the US has to save them.

The Colonies defeated the British to win our independance from England, with the help of France. Again, we fought the British in the War of 1812. Latter on, the United States declared war on Mexico and with defeating them, took control of all lands to the Rio Grande and to the Pacific Ocean. The United States then went on to confront a rebellion of it's own from 1861-1865. The United States defeated the Confederate Armies and kept the Union united. The U.S. then went on to defeat Spain in what Teddy Roosevelt declared as "A lovely Little War".
The U.S. entered The Great War (WWI) in 1918, years after the French and Brits were already heavily involved fighting the Germans, Turks, and Austo-Hungarians. We signed an Armistice with Germany in 1919 in the eleventh month, on the eleventh day, at the eleventh hour, we now refer to this as Veterans day. Again the U.S. entered a world war after being attacked by the Jappanese at Pearl Harbor. WWII ended with the defeat of Nazi Germany, Facist Itay, and Empirial Japan in 1945. The U.S. fought along side it's South Korean ally against North Korea to a stalemate, which still exists to this day. After France's defeat by the Viet Mihn in 1954 at Diem Bien Phu, soon after, the United States entered Vietnam with advisors under President Eisenhower. Combat troops were first sent in 1964, which escalated our envolvement. The U.S., South Vietnam, and North Vietnam signed the Paris Peace Accord in January 1973. The last U.S. combat forces lesf Vietnam in Sep-Oct 1973. North Vietnam Attacked and over ran South Vietnam in 1975, 1 1/2 years after U.S. combat forces turned over all military funcions to the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN's). University professors who were deferred from the draft, Democrats, and the French will tell you we lost there. Just don't tell a REAL Nam vet that. You will be in for a world of hurt. Liberals, University professors, Network media, and Hollywood say we lost. (sound familiar)?
The U.S. along with a multi-national coalition, including the French, defeated Iraq in 1991.
It is very hard nowadays to declare a "decisive victory" in any war. We always need to back off to minimize casualties and destruction, being sensitive to cultural and religious institutions. I'm sure everyone agrees with this methodology. The U.S. does not go to war to "annihilate" our enemies anymore.
The United States military has a great record of victories all Americans can be proud of. But I am referring to the bravery and fighting spirit of the American serviceman, not to glorify the wars themself.
As far as history of French Wars, you can go back further in history, see:

Just curious, what type of answer did you want? a spiteful untruth? Google Michael Moore

The U.S. has only "lost" one war. And that was because we were forced to give up early. (sound familiar, Dems?) The French haven't won one on their own since Napoleon. Cheese eating, snail slurping surrender monkeys. You can get great deals on rifles there, though. Only been dropped once.
