I got pulled over in New Mexico this weekend for going 88 in a 75. I was only going 85 and yes I was speeding. I have a Radar Detector called a Valentine One. It is a great radar detector and works flawlisly. The problem I have is the detector never went off. The cop can beat the detector by turning his gun on as you drive past instead of keeping it on. That is what he claimed but the detector would have gone off full force and I would have been busted. I asked him and that's what he told me he did. His gun was KA band my detector has KA band nothing new on that. I admitted going 85 that's what I was going not 88. I had to tell him if I wanted to pay the fine or go to court right away. If I wanted to talk to a lawyer it's to late cause I told him I would just pay the fine which he said was $80. As I drove away my wife was reading the ticket and she said the fine is for $88 not a big deal but still not the same as $80. What do you think? Do cops lie about using radar?

I consider myself a liberal, I am pro choice, pro immigration, favor separation of church and state, womens rights, civil rights etc...I also support the war on terror. Not all aspects, but generally eliminating Islamic extremism. How can a true liberal support people who deny women, and gays rights? As well as wanting to eliminate the Jews among other things. If we don't fight this it could lead to another Holocaust.

I went on a retreat where a dozen guys were bunked in a cabin. I couldn't sleep, so I took a walk. When I returned, all of them were breathing deep--inhaling and exhaling in perfect unison!

Have you witnessed this? Can you point me to research or mention of this?

Hasn't illegal immigration existed for ages? Then why has it become a hot button issue only very recently?

Is it because only now the media have chosen to target it - or has it really increased in the last few years? If so, why has it increased?

Its looking like the Texas Congressman may just have a chance to pull off the shock of the century and get at least top two in NH. But can he win the state who's motto is 'live free or die'? Be nice people, im just asking!

Wouldn't every American be able to go see a doctor when they needed to?
Wouldn't doctors be guaranteed to be paid?
Wouldn't doctors be able to treat everything that's wrong with you and not just what your HMO approves?
Wouldn't it be possible to initiate an incentive program for doctors who actually cure patients or get them to quit smoking, lower their cholesterol, lose weight, etc.?
Would the government tell doctors how many operations they can perform per year as Republicans contest? No.
Would the government tell doctors where they could practice medicine? No.
Would there be a longer wait to see a doctor? No.
Would any more Americans lose their homes because of debt from medical bills? No.
Would taxes be increased? Yes. But it not only means that every other American can see a doctor for free, but YOU can too!
Thoughts?

How can the British police demand respect from the public when they don't know how to respect the public they serve.
It seems that the police are obviously the cause of many of their own problems.
Having just watched Street Wars on Sky TV, it seems that the Police go out of their way to provoke some situations to massage their own arrest figures.
One episode had a drunk person walking away from a scene at the request of the police, only to be shoved in the back by a copper so hard that he almost stumbles and falls.
When he turns to confront the person who shoved him, the police officer promtly arrests him.
Another episode shows a police officer clearly squaring up to a drunk bloke who is then arrested.
Is this the behavior we should be expecting the tax payers to pay for or are the police getting out of hand when dealing with simple problems instead of concentrating on real crimes such as rape, assult and robbery.
