If this military coup occur under the guise of the president assasination, and being reminded that this is during the vietnam war, what did The United States have to gain? Today, with the war in iraq and escalating tensions with iran, insiders are saying that there are preparations in progress to execute a similar operation in Venezuela as was done in Chile? Again, what is there to gain by a military coup in Venezuela?

I was driving on a road I take daily & ALWAYS see cops. I had my husband on the phone (hands free). I saw the cop raise his laser gun, put it down & by his actions, I knew he was gonna pull me over. He did. Said I was going 60 in a 45 which is a load of crap. I saw him & the road is at an incline. You have to have some serious lead in your foot to go 60 on this road. If I deserved the ticket, I'd take it without question, but in this case, it's just not true. I had my kid & dogs with me. He told me my dogs had to be caged inside the car, but he was not going to ticket me for that but ticketed me for speeding. I have not had a ticket in 13 years, I had 2 tickets before which I paid no problem because I deserved them. I did some research & there is no pet law in the vehicle code book nor is there a municipal law. If I go to court & tell the judge he was not honest about the dog thing, do you think it would rasie enough doubt to make the judge question his honesty about the speed?

I guess this is just yet another example of government that leaves you scratching your head and wondering.....

I really believe this country has lost its mind....so so so many examples. Almost everything the government does is seemingly the exact wrong thing to be doing.

I live in an apartment and I didn't answer the door when my landlord was knocking because I knew he was going to complain about my treadmill. So I ignored it and he opens the door. Is this legal? Is there anything I can do in San Francisco?

The news media always state that we are a Nation of immigrants. Granted America began with immigrants but by far, the majority of today's Americans were born here. My father's parents came from Germany as did my mother's parents. But I always proudly state, 'I'm an American with a German heritage.

Heres the story, My BF and I broke up 9 months ago and i had called the cops for a restraining order, only because thats what i needed to get him off my lease, so the cops came and decided that they want me to press domestic assault charges, even tho there wasnt an assault, just a huge fight...well i seen the police report, which is ALL untrue, and now ive been sopeona'd to testify against him...well 1, we're back together again, and 2, i dont want any part of it and wont say what the report says, so im wondering what will happen in court to him if i dont show up and what legal action can be brought up against me if i dont show up.

This is the most evil guy that the Republicans are going to find. Wrong on every issue. Heartless. Souless. Not a shred of human decency. And real dumb to boot! I can't for the life of me figure out why the Republicans haven't already fallen in line behind this guy. He's the CLEAR successor to Shrub...

from experience, how many of you have done a trial by written declaration and had the cop not had time to do the paperwork so therefore the court sent it back with not guilty and you got your money refunded? i stopped, but apparently not as long as i thought i did, but i didn't count to 3 seconds, which is how long you're supposed to stop in CA i believe. i know i came to a complete stop.i do not feel like going to trial and dealing with cops, because it's a 17 year old girl's word against a cop's, i won't win. so tell me, what are the chances of the cop not responding to the trial by written declaration?

and if the court does send back guilty, can i just pay the fine and move on? or is it increased and i have to go to court, etc.? the whole point of this is that i do not want to deal with a lot of legal stuff. thanks

Let's say for argument's sake that man made global warming is fact. It's coming if we continue our evil capitalist ways.

To prevent it will cost trillions. Is it worth it?

I mean if we are spending trillions to prevent it, wouldn't those trillions be better spent on things like making sure poor countries have clean water, advanced farming techniques, information technology, good sanitation and medical care and more reliable energy?

Seems to me a whole lot more people would benefit in the long run, and also as those nations become more prosperous, each would be able to deal with the effects of global warming easier.

Maybe the best solution is not to grind our economies to a halt, but to invest the money into making more of the world prosperous and better able to take care of themselves for any eventuality.
