Yeah, you'll get all the help you need, but you might not like it too much when you get it.
If you break weight they will tape you to determine body fat percentage. Any recruiter will give you tips to keep that number a little lower than it should be.
You'll probably harden up a little in basic training anyway.

Yes and no. It would be a good idea for you to start conditioning and running before you go to boot camp. Otherwise you will get stuck with the other "fat kids" who are out of shape and it will be much tougher on you.
My son did his basic the year between his junior and senior years in high school and was pretty much in shape from running cross-country. He actually was a battle-buddy for a guy who almost flunked the PT and went and ran with him several days until he could make his time and pass. They encourage this "buddy system" in the Army and they will work with you, but you will have a much less rough time of it both physically and emotionally if you aren't one of the ones they have to work extra with.
Is there an ROTC program anywhere near you, or could you possibly find someone with military experience to be a personal trainer? If not, for sure start a personal workout program right away including running, pushups, and situps, as well as basic cardiovascular/strength training. You can probably even find a DVD like that to use for reference and motivation. You could also try to find a ropes challenge course or obstacle course in your area that you can sign up for. (Most colleges have them as classes to take.)
Good luck and btw, thank you for serving!

Don't worry about that little bit of weight. They will get it off and alot more to boot.
Go ahead and enlist, and do the best job that you can for your country.

I don't know how the army works, but in the Navy they measure your body fat and you have to be in certain guidelines for your height and weight. At my husbands station, they will work out with you or at least go with you and get you to the weight you need to be at. Hope i helped!

I don't think they would care if you are only 10 lbs, or even 20 lbs. overweight. You will work it all off in Basic training. Good luck and thank you for your service to be for your country.

Go ahead and start running now. Throw in some pushup and situps everyday and you'll be fine.
