Ok Ive got 4 traffic tickets
-104mph in a 55mph
-Reckless driving
-Unsafe Passing
-Failed to comply

The unsafe passing i feel shouldn't be given, as only thing unsafe was speed, and I already have a ticket for that, double punishment? Also the failed to comply, you legal only have to pull over if a cop has his sirens on, I didn't hear his sirens at all and didn't even see his lights, but I pulled over asap once I did notice the lights, still no sirens heard though.

The speeding is 11 points on your license, which means its suspended or 30 days.

Ok heres what I think is most unfair, they want to give me 30 days in jail instead of suspending my license for 30 days, and 30 days in jail for reckless driving.

I'm 17, a minor, with no priors.

Id prefer any input on the situation, thoughts, comments, concerns, etc.

I was recently elected president of my school's student council, and our next meeting is on Tuesday, and I'm am trying to think of things to put on the agenda. We just had elections last week, so we haven't really discussed any plans for this year, and I know we need to discuss things that we've done in the past and things we need to do in the future, but I need more things to put on the agenda.

Thanks!

We all know the five-day wait period following Katrina, where a million or so people went without food and water, while our governmental agencies sat idle. We also know about Hurricane Rita, where the people of Houston, told to evacuate, ended up stalled on the highway because no gas was provided for the exodus. When the lights went out across the Eastern seaboard and portions of the Midwest, it took three days for them to correct the problem and, as yet, no real repairs or replacements have been made to our Energy grid.

Why is our government, which formerly prided itself on its quick responses, so slow and inept when it comes to recent disasters? Following Katrina, hundreds of volunteers, willing to help, were turned back by FEMA, including a van filled with doctors and medication. If we disallow volunteer help, and our governmental agencies are incapable, why are we paying so dearly for their existence? Is there any excuse for their slow response to national disasters?

We know you have half a nerve to lie, but do you have the balls, the honest to God courage, to be honest? If you're really right and your agenda really is best for America then YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO LIE TO WIN SUPPORT or to defend it.

Isn't the level of guilt that compels lying usually in direct proportion to the number of lies told to defend a faulty agenda?

When so many of you have reached the point where you feel you have to lie, distort or deflect the truth or resort to stereotyping to defend or champion your political belief system what it this really saying about you and your political agenda?

f your political way really is the best way then why do you feel you need to lie to defend it or to win over support for it? Is defending a political belief system that requires you to lie to defend it so important that you feel you have to sacrifice whatever moral backbone you might still have in order to do so?

or any of these other lies:

liberals hate the troops/enjoy it when soldiers die
liberals are communists
liberals support terrorism
liberals like che guevera/castro/etc.
liberals/Al Gore invented global warming
the list goes on and on...

i have never heard a single liberal ever say any one of these things. the only ones saying these things are conservatives.

please cite your sources (credible ones, please). any rant on some tangent issue will be ignored.

more slander seems to come from the right. that says quite a bit about their character.

p.s. i know slander comes from the left as too, but not nearly as much. what do you see more often: a lib calling conservatives fascist or a conservative calling liberals socialists??? i see the latter at least once every day

McCain is too unstable, and Romney is a religious extremist. Giuliani did an excellent job demonstrating his leadership abilities after 9/11 (unlike Billary, who did and said nothing), and I think that he might be the best choice for the Republican nomination.

It is unacceptable that 9 million children in our country do not have health coverage. Covering kids is a smart investment; it saves money and helps kids do better in school. Moreover, the right to health care is a fundamental value in the pursuit of the American dream.

I applaud Congress for its vote to cover 3.8 million uninsured children, but I am disappointed in the president’s veto of the SCHIP bill. This bill would enable millions of American children who would otherwise be uninsured to get the coverage they need for a healthy start in life. The State Children’s Health Insurance program is a bipartisan plan to renew and strengthen children’s health coverage, and I am discouraged that the president is not making the health of our nation’s children a principal concern.

SCHIP has been a bipartisan success story — it has helped cut the number of uninsured children by one-third over the past 10 years.

Local families are watching the votes in Washington, and we should remember which politicians stood with our children to move forward with health coverage. Congress has another chance to vote on the needs of our kids in a veto override vote. I hope it will make the well-being of children the top priority and improve children’s health by supporting this historic bipartisan agreement

When only two candidates are running in an election, I would guess that all voting systems would be equivalent, but I have seen examples in which if there are several candidates, different candidates can win depending on the voting scheme. Would we be better served with a different voting scheme in the US primaries?

For example, in one scheme, everyone might have a yes vot e and a no vote, then each candidates vote total would be the yes's minus the no's. Who do you predict would win each party's nomination given that system?

What is each person could cast a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd vote? They might all be weighted equally, or perhaps the 1st would be worth 3 points, the 2nd 2 points, and the 3rd 1 point. Who do you predict would win the nominations under this scheme?

Thank you very much for your replies!!! I am quite curious to see what people think!
