Ok Ive got 4 traffic tickets
-104mph in a 55mph
-Reckless driving
-Unsafe Passing
-Failed to comply

The unsafe passing i feel shouldn't be given, as only thing unsafe was speed, and I already have a ticket for that, double punishment? Also the failed to comply, you legal only have to pull over if a cop has his sirens on, I didn't hear his sirens at all and didn't even see his lights, but I pulled over asap once I did notice the lights, still no sirens heard though.

The speeding is 11 points on your license, which means its suspended or 30 days.

Ok heres what I think is most unfair, they want to give me 30 days in jail instead of suspending my license for 30 days, and 30 days in jail for reckless driving.

I'm 17, a minor, with no priors.

Id prefer any input on the situation, thoughts, comments, concerns, etc.

Well lets see here... you got caught going 104 mph in a 55mph zone. For starters you should have gone to jail right then. You put not only your life in jeopordy but anyone elses that was on the road around you. Looking back at the situation, would it have been that important to have killed someone in order for you to get wherever you were going a little faster. You could be facing more serious charges easily. You got caught, period. Take the punishment like a man.

well for one as a minor who is 17 , when you commit a crime that poses a threat to the general public which can cause great bodily injury or even death to someone , you can be tried in court as an adult ...what is unfair is you get to keep driving after you get out of jail , I have been on the local Fire Dept. here for about 20 years , I have pulled so many kids 25 and younger out of cars in pieces , and have countless hours picking up body parts of teenagers on motorcycles , because for some stupid reason they thought they could handle a car ,
You have definitely helped those who want to ban driving for anyone 18 and younger , way to go and thank you ..

Be glad you were not charged with reckless indangerment , If I was the prosecuter in your area I would be pushing for mulitple counts of attempted / negligent homoside and put you away .....
Maybe 30 days with bubba & tiny taking care of you will make you stop being so reckless , the 30 days is less than you deserve I would have pushed for several years , not knowing the law , or feeling bad after you are caught is not only stupid , but it is a cowards excuse .....

You may not have heard the sirens because at speeds that high it is possible even for the police to out run the sound of the siren .....

PS oh yeah , don't drop the soap ...

Rightous bastards. Who didn't test the speed limits of their car when they were 17?

It seems like all those tickets were for the same incident? Which does seem silly since 104mph is obviously reckless and unsafe. Sixty days in jail seems very excessive, especially with no priors, but without lots of money to pay for a good lawyer there's probably nothing you can do. Is the sheriff up for re-election?

I'm pretty sure you have to pull over just for the lights. If I was driving 104 mph, I'd have the music cranked and I wouldn't hear a siren.

The people you passed laughed their heads off when they saw a cop had pulled you over, I guarantee it.

104 in a 55 zone? That's almost understandable. Quite a respectable percentage of us have done that at one time or another. Reckless driving? Well if it's in a 55 zone with other vehicles around instead of a wide open, lonely stretch of freeway late at night, then you could say you were reckless. Unsafe passing? Well if you went by someone 50 mph faster than they were moving, that's pretty unsafe. But maybe you did that in a curve or over a hill or some other not good to do it zone.

Failure to comply? Well let's just change that charge to being stupid. Because if you aren't keeping a sharp enough lookout to notice a cop on your tail, or any vehicle keeping up with you at that speed, then you deserve everything they can throw at you.

No sympathy for you from me.

You ARE required to stop if the officer signals with EITHER lights OR sirens. They are NOT required to use both. I would not be surprised if you didn't hear the siren because YOUR engine was drowning the sound out. Based on what you ADMIT, I think you got of EASY. you should have lost you license for a year AFTER serving your 30 days. In my state, you would lose your license until age 21 before they even considered the reckless driving charge.

I feel you are lucky to be alive seeing that you could have went out of control passing. Also 104 will kill more than one
person. You are definitely going to loose your licence for a while longer that 30 days. More like a 6 mos to 1 year. Be smart don't drive that fast unless you plan on not being here...

You should be in jail, going that fast on any road other than a sanctioned race track is just stupid. You could have not only killed yourself but some other poor innocent civilian. I think you license should be suspended for a year after something like that, but that is just me. Save the speed for race tracks, that is why insurance is so high, people like you killing and wrecking other cars....At least you were not drunk

it's unfair is it?

Is it fair for you to endanger the lives of other innocent road users, and abuse the PRIVILEGE of your license? It's not a RIGHT to be able to drive.

It doesn't sound to me like you're at all remorseful for having broken the law and risked other people's lives. Maybe the judge is picking up on that and thinks you'd benefit more from prison than having to ask your mum to drive you around for 30 days.

104 in a 55?

How unfair would it have been if you had killed someone -- to them, not to you. You deserve no pity.

Think about what could have happened by your momentary indiscretion. Sounds like you will have some time for that.

PS: Flashing lights on a police car mean pull over - now.
