I have been an Independent for over 25 years. I have just re-registered as a Democrat, for obvious reasons. Has anyone else changed their party affliation recently and if so, why?

Expect any civilized person to have a shred of respect for them? There can be no child abuser more heinous than those Palestinians who teach their little ones, from the time that they are toddlers, that it is their destiny and honor to kill Jews. And so many people ask here on YA why the Americans insist on supporting the Israelis. To not understand that is to be completely ignorant of the situation in the middle east or be so devoid of humanity as to be unable to function as a civilized person.

Many conservatives have said they support the veto because SCHIP is a socialist program. However, so are Medicare and Medicaid. Do you not support them either?

Others claim that people who make $83,000 can afford to pay for their own kids' health care. However, as under current law, a state can ask to go that high ($83,000), typically because it has a high cost of living, but it still needs the administration's permission. The SCHIP goal is to cover more of the millions of uninsured children, and that the bill provides financial incentives for states to cover their lowest-income children first. Of the over 43 million people nationwide who lack health insurance, over 6 million are under 18 years old (over 9% of all children).

The president's alternative is to renew SCHIP by spending an additional $5 billion over the next five years. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office says this wouldn't even support coverage of kids already in the program.

Now, justify the veto.

I used to work at a restaurant called Qdoba mexican Grill. During that time I had many paychecks but lost one of them. After asking them to get me a new one for a few months they wouldn't contact corporate. Then I found my check, but it was already expired so i still needed to get a new one. I brought it in and my manager gave it to the boss/owner of the store. It has been a month and he still hasn't done anything with it. I check in every week and have left him voicemails but there is still no effort. What is the best action to take?

It remains an unproven theory to this day. It's no less a religion than any theory on the origin of life, how complex living beings came into existence, and what morals can be inferred from its underlying foundational premise.

Congress' SCHIP plan would have been funded entirely by a tax on cigarettes. In other words, it would have both discouraged smoking while providing health care to American children whose families have difficulty affording it. So let's check the facts. Conservatives:

Support the current US health care system, which the WHO has ranked #37 in the world.

http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2007/05/15/1198/
http://www.photius.com/rankings/healthranks.html

Oppose providing government health care to children.

Oppose taxing cigarettes to provide that health care.

Many oppose all abortions, even when the mother's health and life are at risk.

Many support the Iraq War, which has led to over 650,000 deaths, including many American troops.

Could it be that conservatives are simply anti-health?

they let it touch the ground, get wet, get torn, wear it on hats and shirts place graffiti over it, use it for merchandising purposes, do not dispose of it properly, raise it properly, lower it properly, leave it flying over night without being lit. All in the name of patriotism they have desecrated the flag more than those middle eastern protestors that are seen burning it.

1) If so, what's the point of the rest of the constitution? Isn't it just redundant?

2) If Bush decides that warrant-less searches, state-sponsored religion, and corporate welfare is good for the "general welfare," doesn't that mean he's working within the constitution?

3) Does a constitutionally limited republic mean anything to you, or should we lose rights every time a slick conman can convince a slim majority of voters?

The fact that atheists view Christmas with disdain is not astonishing, since they've attempted to remove the phrase "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance and "In God we trust" from U.S. currency, as well as Ten Commandments displays from numerous publicly owned places. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=29995

The wife of a former Michigan State Representative has cheated me out of my life savings. In civil court she has been adjudged guilty of fraud and unjust enrichment. However, criminally, the prosecutor turned down the case, saying that I already had a judgment. They won't pay because they are declaring bankruptcy to avoid payment. Every penny I have is invested in attorneys and I might get nothing in return. They have about $100,000 of mine and arrogantly brag about the new Jag and their $300,000 lake home, which was mine. What are some other ideas to make them pay criminally. They are low life criminals.

Thanks

Palestine has had unofficial membership since 1975, and has at least three committees catering to Palestinian desires. Tibet, which was invaded and annexed by China, has no such representation. Nor does Taiwan, whose seat the UN gave to China. And what about the Kurds, who are attacked regularly by Turkey and - until recently - Iraq? Do they not deserve a say in world events?
