no, a desecrated flag must be burned.
if they are wearing it when you set it on fire, too bad for them.

Oh come on.......... people of all colors, persuasions, and
political parties wear American Flag pins on their suits.
Some show the flag in their car window. Hippies wore the
flag as clothing, but I don't think it was because they were
patriotic. But, after many years of wearing a flag pin on his
suit lapel, O'Bama has decided he'll quit wearing one because of the war (this is quite stupid). America is still the
very best Nation in the world whether you agree with the war
or not. Just like in a marriage, there are things you like about
your spouse and things you don't, but you are still married.
In the case of someone flying their countries flag higher than
the American flag, I think the owner should have known better.
If you're in America, you fly that flag at the top. We don't care
if they also fly their own right under it....perfectly okay. Even
the State flag is flown under the National Flag. We have
protocol and doing what's right. That way, we can all get
along. If we go to Mexico and want to fly our flag, it should
be flown right under the Mexican flag.

youve got yourself a little confused with the flag code
the flag code states that the flag shoud not be worn - the ACTUAL MATERIAL flag
''(d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or
drapery. ''
the flag PIN IS allowed
''(j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic
uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military
personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations.
The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living
thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on
the left lapel near the heart.''
Nobody who wears a flag pin is disrespecting the flag or breaking the flag code

Based on what you provided as evidence, I would say the answer is obviously "no". I've read the entire piece and nowhere does it say that wearing a pin of the American flag is unauthorized.
What is truly sad is that you don't even produce evidence that supports your moronic notion, as flawed as it is. If it isn't illegal to desecrate the flag by burning it and throwing it around the street, it is clearly not illegal to wear a representation of it. The code you referenced above demonstrates my point.
I do, however, encourage you to do as you propose and see what happens. Call it a "lesson in humility and understanding" exercise.

It is not illegal. American flag "laws" are only guidelines, and courtesies that should be followed. Similar to standing up, taking off your hat, and putting your hand over your heart while the National Anthem is being sung - it isn't a law, but it is customary.
Also, since they are guidelines, and not strict laws, it is common to find contradicting protocol for proper use, care, and disposal of American flags.
So there.

what it means by wearing the flag being against the code is that you're not supposed to wear the flag as a garment.
Representations are OK.
If you mean the representations, you're more than welcome to try.

No. That would be a silly thing to do. I don't believe that is an actual law.
