This is a brillian political move for the Democrats. They knew that if they loaded the SCHIP bill with lots of pork, that the President would veto it. And this will give them more politcal ammunition. So who is it that does not care for the children? I would say that the Democrats in control of Congress have shown that it is they who do not care.
I noticed that the articles in todays paper are glaringly vacant of all pertinent facts. Like the part where this program is expanded to include children in households making as much as $80,000 dollars a year. Since when is that poverty level. They also left out the part about how illegal immigrants will also be able to get these benefits.
If the democrats are going to help children, then lets make it about children. I may not always agree with what the President says or does, however, he was right to veto this. And he did it for the right reasons. He has extended his hand to make a compromise on a bill that would benefit the neediest of children and exclude the pork. There is no answer from the democrats except to sling more mud. But, then again, their approval rating is lower than the Presidents and they have accomplished less. And they have the majority.
It is about the children and not political points, right??????

Why does everyone nowadays seem to hate everyone else?

Why is it, that people are more loyal to their political parties then to their country, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights? What in the hell is wrong with some of you people?

The approval rating for Congress is horrible, the approval rating for Bush is horrible, yet some of you people just keep following along right on their coat tails. Why not return to what made us such a great nation in the first place?

FYI: If you answer this question with blames on your rival party and or slander / degredation of the question itself you will get reported, so don't waste your breath.

If an 18-year-old has sex with a 17-year-old in California, it is a crime. In Georgia in 2005, a 17-year-old had oral sex with a 15-year-old and got a ten year prison sentence (http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2007/06/11/national/a085409D11.DTL).

There is something horribly wrong here. Part of it is just plain sexism. But I think the law really needs to be changed to allow for similarity of ages. Like if they are 2 years apart or less, it is not a crime, or only a minor misdimeanor.

Not too long ago the entire North and South continents of this hemisphere were occupied tens of thousands of years by nothing but brown skin peoples (Natives), then the Europeans came from around the globe (uninvited), kidnapping Africans from their homelands forcing slavery by murder and torture while conducting near genocide on the Native American and butchering hundreds of thousands of native Mexicans forcing them to leave what was once Mexico, they then 'manufactured' their own Mexican border and declared it law. My fiancé is being deported because to 2 misdemeanor charges (battery and disorderly conduct). I am planning to move to Mexico with our daughter to be with him. An ICE agent said that he could apply for a waiver as soon as he got there if he wanted to. Is there any chance of him coming back to the US after we are married? Does anyone know how long it takes to get a response after you apply for a waiver? Thank you.

After skipping the Univision and NAACP debates, I doubt he will get the minority vote. He definitely will not get the NRA vote. Evangelicals are threatening to run a third party candidate if he is the Republican nominee because he's pro-choice. He also wouldn't get the vote of Americans who no longer support the war in Iraq. If the GOP were smart, they would throw their support behind a proven conservative who differs with Bush on the war in Iraq and a candidate who actually showed up to the minority debates; but Guiliani is in the lead in the polls.

takes them for a day to somewhere like golf n stuff, or bowling, or speed way racing. my position as sales support there are 4 or us and since they cant track our work as goals like they do for the sales reps we all have decided to rotate it or take turns on who gets to go to the acheivers club since we all do an equal amount of work. well it was suppose be my turn last quarter but the manager made up some excuse that no support rep was going this time. he knew it was my turn and instead told the other support rep he can go. so for sure its my turn this quarter and i was already told i get to go. this time they are flying us to our oregon office to meet with the other reps for wine tasting. so in the last 2-1/2 wks i have missed about 4 days due to my son and having to take him to the dr. when i confirm my trip with the reps they now tell me i cant go due to attendance and i fight telling them i was suppose to go last qrtr then they tell me its not a good time because i have my son!!!
