I typically side with Democrats, however, I think many people will agree that our entire government is in the toilet.

Has anyone seen the breakdown of that 21 percent of Congress. There are still plenty of Republicans in Congress. The last poll I saw on the matter broke it down further and the Democrats in Congress scored near 50% approval where the Republicans were in the 20s. Could it be the obstructionist Republicans who are pulling down Congress?
"Democrats also have a greater share of the public trust on other key issues, including Iraq (a 15-point advantage), the economy (18 points) and handling the federal budget deficit (23 points). On the campaign against terrorism, 41 percent put more faith in Democrats, 40 percent in Republicans."- Washington Post October 4, 2007

First of all, these two numbers just go to show you how screwed we are right now. Judging from these numbers at least 68% of the country knows something is completely jacked and is either to complacent or to apathetic to do anything about it.
One of the previous posters was right. Democrats only hold a small majority over Republicans in Congress, so you may as well forget the whole left right garbage here.
Doesn't anyone realize that the average American is completely fed up with both parties? Doesn't anyone see something wrong with this picture?

The approval rating has been falling since Jan 2007 to an all time low of 18% in August 2007 . The reason we don't hear much about it is the media's bypass to the liberal agenda. As the Congress continues to debate stupid things such as Rush Limbaugh, these numbers will continue to fall !

So what?
As far as I'm concerned, the low approval numbers for both the executive and legislative branches of government are an indication that Americans seem to hate themselves.
I want to know how low (or how high) the approval ratings of the Supreme Court are. Because that is the only part of the federal government of which I have an extremely strong DISapproval, but I can't do anything about it, because I can't vote for or against the Justices.

You're right, Congress is inept, but the driving engine of that ineptness is its Republican members. Democrats can't arbitrarily stop the war for Haliburton, big oil, and slime ball profiteers and Republican legislators routinely vote against ending it. Even if they're successful in passing legislation to end it Democrats don't have enough votes to override George Bush Jr.'s inevitable veto. My personal approval rating of morons who continue supporting the party of the rich is zero percent.

Actually, the latest approval rating for Bush is 29% and for Congress--both Dem and Repub--it's a dismal 11%. Translated this basically means that our lawmakers and legislators really, really suck, regardless of party afiliation. It's time for a third party; one with vision and a backbone.

Has anyone ever noticed that these "supposed"( and believe me, I use the word very lightly) Republican supporters never allow contact,
I think they are all Bush family members, every one of them with closed eyes, talk about Congress like its made up of only Democrats, with a Republican President vetoing anything that he desires, and they still blame others.
I hope that America can actually see for themselves this election, boots out all those in favor of the war, and spending, and taxing the little guy while the rich get more tax breaks.

Yeah... I'm pretty sure everyone notices... But just to refresh your memory. 49% of the Senate is Republican. Thats a pretty good size. Just because the Democrats have the majority (a very slim one at that) doesn't mean that the Republican Senators are exempt from disapproval.
