We have seen that it didn't with alcohol in the 1920's. Do you think the prohibition on drugs is working? We spend billions of dollars trying to control drugs, do you think we can spend that money on better uses? What do you think about it?

In Sweden porno is permited by the government and it is also produced by the swedish movie makers
Sweden is Slavic country but Americans might think Sweeden is a caucasian country, cuz gringos are not very well educated about ethnicity's and world geography.
Some other porno producers are the Nuyorkers , mostly jews who never pray or go to the synagogue.
Porno is lucrative and anti-Christian . Why is also permited in USA?

I know for a lot of plaintiffs, lawyers will work on a contingency. If you are the defendent, can a similar arragement be made, and if so, what is this called?

I would be okay with agreeing to pay only if there is a settlement or successful outcome.

For the last 50 years at least, they've sided with the Democrats overwhelmingly. For example, in 2004, over 88% of black voters voted for Kerry. What do you think are some specific reasons for this?

Say:

1) You're charged with a civil lawsuit
2) You have money but want to use an appointed lawyer instead of paying for you.

If you can't afford an attorney, the state provides one for you, but if you can, but don't want to pay for one, can you still use a state appointed attorney?

My friend and I have been having an argument over the past week. Picture this scenario:

The police are looking for a fugitive. The fugitive is NOT in your house, but the police think he is. They get a warrant and break in to your house, only to find you smoking a joint on the couch. Can they arrest you for that?

Forgive the brevity of this story: I married a forgein girl I loved in college. We never consummated our marriage sexually. She was pregnant by a guy before our marriage. The baby is NOT mine. I was mad and left her, but we never got divorced. I was a sucker for her hardship stories and I agreed to apply for a green card, for her benifit, and she got one. After that I heard little from her for 4 years. We have recently have been in contact with eachother via phone. She is now eligibe for USA citizenship, and is asking for my personal information (all the stuff she lost in Katrina).
She has a green card. I'm reluctant to give her my personal info. I am hoping she can apply with no further obligation on my behalf. I want nothing to do with her or her child, and have started my own new life, but can't afford to divorce her. Question: If she obtains citizenship, will I be obligated to her or her child (who does not have my last name), finacially? I CT, she TX
Advice Please!

my article is about president bush. bush voted against an advance child care plan that would help 10 million kids in 5 years. when bush saw the trouble he caused he explained how he wanted better child care plans for low income families. the majority of congress overided bush's veto. bush said the bill will cost too much to do. congress wanted to add another 35 million to the plan. now it is the house of representatives to decide.

Just wondering because we hear so much crap from Americans that "they" won WW1 & WW2, BUT the reality was that they did all they could to avoid being involved, cowardly not commiting to the Allied effort and come in ONLY when directly attacked at Pearl Harbour, when other countries had already been committed and fighting abroad for 3-4 years.

If somebody has an "Other Than Honorable Discharge" from the Army is there any way to get it change to " Honorable Discharge" I have heard you can do this, but you have to go on the base where you were stationed. Is there any way to get it changed by filling out forms on the web or through snail mail? If you have to go on location how many days does it take, and what days and times can you be there?

Tonight, I have read so much crap from these so called liberals. I ask ‘ Liberals if you are the majority as YOU think you are, why then can’t your ideology keep a media outlet without losing subscribers.’ Why the bankruptcy of Air America. Why do Democratic liberals want to silence Conservative ideology via the ’fairness doctrine.’?

My friend is about to marry a person enlisted in the Army National Guard and is being deployed overseas. He is not giving her any information about benefits or insurance. He claims that he cannot get a copy of the paperwork that shows the beneficiary. Which office or department can she call to get information about her benefits and rights of a spouse in the military (he will be active duty soon)? Doesn't he get extra pay for simply being married? We think he's marrying her so his kids can live with her while he is away, and he'll get more benefits. We need information of who to contact. Thanks.

I have seen the movie "Empire of the Sun" and also the PBS series "The War" by Ken Burns and cannot fathom why the Japanese in WW2 imprisoned civilians (including children) from the US, UK, etc. Was there ever any attempt or negotiations during the war to have the civilians sent home or to a neutral country?

I don't know if a national health system or gov't subsidized insurance is the answer, but health care costs are insane! I need health insurance, and it is going to cost me almost $200 a month!!! There are cheaper ones, but the co-pays are so high, I may as well not buy those. I'm 25 and a non-smoker, it should not cost that much. Why does it cost $10000 to fix a broken arm? Ridiculous.
