All I hear from the left is whining about the rich. "They have it so easy... they just inherit everything.... they keep getting richer... and blah blah blah...."

When did it become the status quo in this country to be penalized for being successful?

"The rich should pay more" (or as they like to justify it.. their fair share". Really? Is that equality? That the rich pay a tremendously higher tax than the middle class or lower class?

The Dems are trying to propose that the Mortgage interest tax be repealed for those with homes larger than 4,200 sq. ft.!!! Shame on you for your success!

I am not rich..... yet! I am working towards it. Maybe I don't even get there... But what you people are basically saying is that you will never make it so punish those that do! Class envy is out of control! The "entitlement" movement is out of control.

I thought you lefties just want equality? To clue you in though, equality only means the equal opportunity. You have that.

I'm referring to the case/manhunt that's going on for the man who actually did this to a 3 year old girl. Police said that everything that could have been done sexually to an adult, was done to this baby. What do you think should be done to him once he is caught?

If Bush was in charge during WW2.....the war would of took 25 years to win(if we would of won), it would of took 50 years to control Berlin, and he would of cut taxes for the rich to make them feel good.

Thank God FDR was in control, and not George Bush.

in the New Zealand police force only certain areas of the force have guns and the mainstream officers that we see every day only have batons, taser guns have been on trial for a year and in the future may be used as an alternative rather than bringing in standard issue guns for all officers.
What are some facts about the taser gun and are they used often do they work in apprehending people? are they safer than a gun? opinions please thanks.....

I seek answers from people educated in defense.

If Canada spent an equal proportion of its GDP on defense as the United States does, could Canada effectively defend its borders militarily from most nations? Obviously if hell froze over and the US attacked Canada there would be no chance, as with other military power houses like Russia. But being able to defend your sovereignity, defend/help(think natural disastors) your people across the nation and world and help allied nations in times of need are the main points.

Canada's GDP is $1.165 Trillion.
The United States spends 3.7% of its GDP on Military.
Currently Canada spends $16.5 Billion on defense.
At 3.7%, Canada would be spending $43.1 Billion on defense.

What changes could we see, and how effective would this money be?

This question is simply "What If". While I support our military, a massive increase like this is not needed, and I simply ask as a neutral "What If" question because it interests me.

I’m writing a piece for lit on the Vietnam War and the way Hollywood portrays the soldier’s experiences. The topic I have created for me to work around goes as "Hollywood's movies about the Vietnam War are an accurate portrayal of soldiers’ experiences." I will than Discuss this.

I got bitten by my own dog in Petsmart while the vet do the shot for my dog. They took my dog into some backroom do some checking at first. after it came out, it get really aggressive. then the vet said it needs another shot. and ask me to put the muzzle on the dog which they provide. But it seems my dog hates the muzzle and bite my hand. Then the vet said lets not put the muzzle on and hold the dog in arm while she put a shot at my dog. while i holding my dog. it bites my lips and my lips split into 2. i need to goto hospital and have 8 stiches on my lips. I cant goto work because i am salesman and i cant talk with 8 stiches on my lip. so my question is can i sue petsmart and if i do how do i find a lawyer

how can there be an end to a war when you pay mercenaries 30k per month. what is their incentive to end the war? the unemployment line. how should the troops feel when mercenaries make as much in a month as the troops do in a year? if you support the troops, you should definately be against the war profiteers. iraq is like a tug of war. on one end you have the US troops doing all they can to accomplish the mission so they can go home for their families, meanwhile you have the mercenaries doing all they can to incite hatred from the iraqis causing the war to escalate. you can find on youtube all kinds of videos of innocent iraqis being slaughtered by blackwater as they are laughing and calling it "a turkey shoot"

if this doesn't incite terrorism, what will? americans should be ashamed.

I ask because so many of them say that liberals are "emboldening the enemy" and "losing the war on terror" because we are opposed to the war in Iraq. Are cons suddenly touchy-feely believers in the power of positive thinking? I thought that was a liberal thing. No?

I've always thought that wars are won by intelligent strategizing and well-planned execution of those strategies. I didn't think U.S. soldiers were issued ruby slippers with their uniforms so they could click them together and wish real hard.

Was I wrong?

I think it was a mistake. This was passed by quite a few republicans as well as democrats. It makes Bush look like he doesn't want to help working families with their kids health. I think he knows his support cannot go much lower, so he doesn't have much to lose.

I think the expansion of SCHIP was a good idea. That way, single parents would only have to get individual health insurance rather than a family plan, which is usually 3 or 4 times as much.

In East Tennessee a group of undercover cops started staking out public parks in the area, known to be frequent meeting places for gay men. In a sting operation they waited for men to hit on them, before arresting them. They then publicly outed these men in the local newspaper, showing their photographs, full names, and complete home addresses.

24 hours after this public outing of men who are yet to be convicted, one of the men involved shot and killed himself.

I was wondering what people think of publishing the names, photos, and addresses of people who have not been convicted in a court of law.
