What are some facts about the taser gun and are they used often do they work in apprehending people? are they safer than a gun? opinions please thanks.....

Many police departments in America use tasers. They are quite useful as an alternative to "lethal force" (i.e., regular guns), but they become controversial when officers use them unnecessarily when they could have used "human force" instead.

Tasers are a less lethal option (meaning less chance of killing) akin to pepper spray, mace, baton. They do not, repeat DO NOT, replace a handgun. Nor should they. Tasers are the most effective non-lethal force option ever provided to police.

Not to provide police with the option to use deadly/lethal force (ie, handgun) is stupid. I would never do this job unarmed (meaning without the ability to properly defend myself against ANY threat), and the society/government that fails to allow their own police to have the necessary equipment to save their own lives is either: 1) naive enough to think violent crimes don't happen or 2) doesn't want their police to prevent violent crimes or catch the offenders thereof. (why would a cop try to catch a robber w/ a gun, knowing he doesn't stand a chance of even having a fair fight!)

Many police agencies in the United States use taser weapons as a less that lethal weapon. A taser weapon utilizes an electric current to cause the muscles in the body to "short circut" and you lose control of them. The weapons work effectively when deployed properly.

I FOR ONE, choose for that decision yet enable me warning you at the kind of extra advantageous actual rigidity upon arrest via law enforcement officials, remember they are people merely such as you and me and are liable to blunders and ABUSE interior the implementation of so stated as extra advantageous actual rigidity. IN different international locations, specific i've got faith so as an occasion in BRAZIL the place drug pushers/sellers have their own sort of weapons and state-of-the-paintings surveillance device, it is the place extra advantageous actual rigidity is mandatory, if a man or woman is in elementary terms a drunken fellow why use a actual rigidity interior the 1st place? POLICE BRUTALITY isn't a advantageous word to study. IT IMPLICATE that all and sundry law enforcement officers are brutal and propose which isn't the case extra often than not. this is ALREADY ALLOWED interior the U. S. police rigidity to apply actual rigidity whilst mandatory yet not all the circumstances. There could desire to be a boundary line whilst and the place to enforce such direction. because of the fact as I stated it fairly is abused via the police themselves, whilst they have been given the capability all the way by. because of the fact we are only people, and people continually do the incorrect ingredient. WHAT IF the girl IS A SUSPECT, so no remember, she would be in a position to be bang and slam from everycorner of the room or interior the streets because of the fact we enable extra advantageous actual rigidity to be executed via law enforcement officers. because of the fact she is screaming and cursing interior the direction of the arrest, so the police can slam and throw her in some rubbish unload or corner and after placed handcuffs on her. The minute she is extra interior the precinct station she is nearly a vegetable already full of harm. And if the police is interviewed on television all they could say is 'howdy we are ALLOWED to apply actual rigidity remember!'.... it fairly is not remarkable, the police merely like the civilians are...I REPEAT to blame for the persons for their action and can be introduced to justice in the event that they attain the decrease of their accountability. they could desire to be they are merely people and people fault and err.

I carry one every day and it is the best tool since pepper spray.

It is not however a replacement for a regular gun. There are still many situations where a taser is not appropriate and a pistol is.

the police force in my city is very well equipped. Most officers have several weapons to choose from...every patrol car has a shotgun, after 2 years as a officer you can get an AR-15 Patrol rifle. officers are allowed to carry two handguns( one is duty weapon other is a back up) tazers are available to every officer with 2 years experience. I have been tazered and it is very effective. great less then lethal weapon.
