of course. Israel has the reputation for it.

Israel is an undeclared nuclear power. They are not a member of Nuclear Non-Proliferation treaty. They refuse to officially confirm or deny having nuclear status.

It has been suspected Israel has had nukes since at least 1979, despite the political stance of the nation. They almost certainly have them and estimates place them around 200.

If Iran actually made one, and actually was stupid enough to launch at Israel, you can bet hundreds would fly back at them.

Nuclear weapons are national bargenning chips or deterrants.

Nuclear weapons are grossly overrated also in their destructive power. Especially a first nuke will have a low kt yield. A lot more damage could be caused by TNT, for instance, and certainly if the resources were expended to developing artillery, armor an air force superior to the enemy, it's better spent.

If you're able to endure sanctions and build up an ARSENAL complete with a method to DELIVER and at the same time able to protect yourself from an attack from a nuclear-state, that's one thing. However, in this day it's just about politcal bargening power. (IE: USA has like 10,000 Nukes)

Could Israel retaliate in kind...unless knocked off line...yes.

What would happen next? Iran would become a radioactive glass parking lot.

tws...you are right, except for that 1 or 2 nukes would not wipe Israel out.

It could if only one or two nuclear weapons hit Israel.. but three or four nuclear weapons would disable Israel's nuclear capabilities and render Israel defenseless. Of course if Iran did this Russian, China, the United Kingdom, the E.U., the United States, and India would rain hell on the nation.

nuking israel would be about the dumbest thing iran could do. of course, i wouldn't put it against that psycho he's been calling for the elimination of israel for quite a while now and tries to play the holocaust like it was no big deal... anyways, rest assured that israel already the coordinates for key iranian sites locked it to its computers and is just waiting for an excuse to push the big red button. if there's anything left after israels' counterattack, other nations will undoubtedly come to israels aid in helping to mop up whatever's left in iran.

Iran tried to gain the nuclear bomb in the 1980's and Israel bombed the plants.
Iran has since tried to gain the bomb and now is so close to having it that Israel may bomb the four sites again to stop them from attacking Israel.
If Iran sent the bombs into Israel then the U.S. Navy would launch the missiles to knock them down. So would Israel before they hit their country.

I doubt it...A strike against Iran could be an excellent mistake...and permit me to remind you that Hezbollah isn't launching any rocket into Israel:they did it throughout the time of the conflict from final summer season, now they stopped... first of all Iran isn't breaking any regulation via having a nuclear application.they have signed the NNPT,so as long as there is not any evidence that they are construction a nuke, each and everything they do it fairly is criminal... 2d enable's not ignore what international locations help Iran and that i doubt that for the period of case of an attack, this could stay in elementary terms a close-by conflict, this could certainly be the beginning up of WW3...and that i doubt that any you may % this...

World War 3

2007-10-03 17:31:42 · answer #8 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

Depends on the efficiency of the first strike.

If Iran knocked out their entire military on the first strike, then no Israel couldn't retaliate.

But the rest of the world could, and probably would. That might include America, Britain, France... who knows how many.

g-day!

Israel doesn't have any land based nukes in their country.
They are all in submarines at sea.
Oh yes they would retaliate. They always do.
They are a very resourceful country.
They will also win in a nuclear war They always win their wars.
That's just the way it is.
Sadly It will probably happen someday.
I feel sorry for all of the innocent people who will die needlessly. Their blood will be on the hands of those who will not accept the reality of this universe.

israel has a number of high yeild nuclear warheads and a missile system that is capable of delivering them. Iran becomes a radioactive desert and the rest of the middle east finds out that messing with israel is a poor idea.
