I recently moved from one house to another here in Texas. The movers did a god job but I later found out they stold my $1000 play station III. I am 100% sure they stold it because I over heard them taking about how nice and expensive it was. As soon as I found out it was missing I called my bank and canceld the check for $650 I wrote to the moving company. Now I have a detective calling me saying that if I don't settlle this matter he will get a warrent for my arrest. The owners of this company don't care that I am not satisfied and just want there money. I think this is a civil matter and should be settled in civil court. Can I get prosecuted in criminal court for canciling the check?

In certain minority communities (New York, in particular), we sometimes see some religious groups put their monthly publications (in their own languages, of course) in grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Can anyone tell me if this is against the law in the U.S.? The more specific the answer, the better (i.e. reference to the law itself). Thanks.

I entered a store with my mom to look for some jewelry (gift) for my sister-in-law. My twon boys (4 and 2) stayed outside with my brother. After a few minutes they came inside also. The owner of the store immediately started giving us "bad" looks. and complained how my children were touching the glass displays. My son (4 yr old) walked passed a self-standing rack of clothes (looked very unstable) and full of heavy clothing. and it tipped over. I immediately apologized and started picking everything up when i noticed how the storeowner started shouting at us at how we should "control" our kids. If it were in a nicer tone, i would understand, but she was yelling, and insulted/embarrassed us in front of other shoppers. At that point i left the store. we walked passed a few stores and saw another similar store. As my mom and I (without my brother and kids) started to enter this store, the owner automatically pointed at us to "get out" and "don't you dare step in here"...

Ok so one day, a teenage kid and his project partner goes to the school library to work on their project. however, one of the librarians believe they are too noisy and tells them to be quiet while everyone else is loud. The kid and his partner eventually calms down, but the friend of teenage kid punches him in groin. Therefore he moans. When the librarian hears the moaning, she force the teenage kid and his partner out of the library and threatens for a one week ban. The kid tries to explain his situation, but is eventually kicked out of the library. Is this an unfair punishment taken by school librarian? If so, what options can the kid take to get justice?

Should there be laws protecting the right to burn a flag as free speech, should people be allowed to protest of the policies of the government, by burning a flag. What's your perspective?

Counting the dead is only a small part of the picture. Beside the 'dead', there are the blinded, the maimed, the burned and those suffering from acute and long term mental problems from the stress of seeing the effects of violence or anticipating it. Then there's the growing lack of electrical power, sewers that don't work and clean water that's becoming scarce. Hospitals have less staff, schools have less security, over a 10th of the pre-war population, mostly professional people and business people have fled the country. The militas may have run out of handy targets as many neighborhoods are already 'ethnicly cleansed'..which may be reflected in the total number of daily killings. Wadda' 'ya think?

There is this big chain store that does Price Matches to any website, as long as it is legit. The store price was $170..I used the price match from legit website and they honored it, got it for $89 :] .. heres the thing, The same day, I felt that I didn't want the item nomore, it was still new/unused, so i went to a another one of the same store, but just diff. city. I somehow misplaced the receipt and lost it, but luckly the store still gives returns, just that it will be in store credit, witch was fine with me as I always go to this big chain store. But they gave me back $170!! I only paid $89 because of the price match from another store, guess they didn't know? The only thing is that they asked for driver license and phone number, I guess it is a routine for returns that cost a lot or returns w/o receits? So I showed ID and everything, everything seemd normal, and i got the $170.. My question is will they somehow track me down?? would they put the time into it? helpp i'm scared~
