People are "indoctrinated" at basic training.
Indoctrinated: to instruct in a doctrine, principle, ideology, etc., esp. to imbue with a specific partisan or biased belief or point of view.
It's a pretty close synonym with brainwashing if you decide to use the term, but it's not really bad brainwashing in my opinion (then again, I'm infected too).
Now back to your question: the guy can't remember because he was not paying attention because he was tired. It's as simple as that. There's not much taught at basic training that you can't learn from unclassified manuals that could be bought on the internet. There would be no need to erase his memory even if the technology existed. Come on, it's the Air Force for crying out loud, he's still harmless nomatter how much training he gets. (Good-natured joke, calm down plane junkies!)

Injuries are rife during all forms of recruit training. Chances are, he forgot which particular accident injured his leg - was it the tumble down the stairs or the time he tripped into a pot hole? Could have been anything. As for brainwashing, he probably couldn't think of a better way to describe the discipline. There is no brainwashing in the military.

Get a life kid!
Tell us how brain washing is performed, is it from eating military food or watching your clothes spin round in the washing machine.
Your buddy probably drank away the relevant brain cells.

The only attempted "brainwashing" service personnel go thru is what is inflicted upon them as Prisoners of War. The North Koreans , Chinese, and North Vietnamese were enthusiastic practioners.
As for this so called "zoomie:...he's either pulling your leg or embarrased by someSTUPID stunt he screwed up on and can't bring himself to admit it.

no.. if he cant remember what happened he probally has some kind of mental issues himself the the military does not brain wash people trust me what can happen to a person is that they stop thinking for them selves and let the army or marines..etc. make all thier decisions for them

Ugh.
No.
He's just being either stupid or he's suffered from the war, if he was actually in combat.
And besides.
The Army and the Air Force are two completely separate branches.

Nobody gets brainwashed in the military; he's yanking your chain, man. SPecially in the USAF??? Other than pilots, PJs and SPs, what do they do in the USAF that's high risk? Are papercuts considered an occupational hazard in the USAF?
LOL! J/K: I'm just busting balls here; the USAF is a great branchg of service... If you don;t want to get your ABUs dirty!
