The Senate will take up a farm bill in October that in part will look to grant legal status to over 1.5 million agricultural workers. Feinstein, architect of the bill, has strongly voiced her opinion on the shortage of farm workers and feels nothing else can be done to rectify the scarcity except by providing a path to citizenship for undocumented farm workers.

Feinstein is confident that she has more than 60 Democrat and Repub-licans votes and the bill has extensive support in the House too.

Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, opposed to the Feinstein bill he calls amnesty, is suggesting a program that would allow foreign workers to stay in the country for 10 months, but then they must return and re-apply for another temporary work cycle.

Don't let this one slide through quietly after the Dream Act is voted down.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2007/09/24/bush-predicts-Clinton-will-win-dem-nomination-lose-to-republican/#more-2129

Do you feel he may be right? Would anyone in the Republican crowd accept his support during the campaign to the General?
Intelligent comments please. Keep in mind politics makes strange bedfellows. Once the field is narrowed will the current President be able to help Republican's keep the White House? AND do you really want to be left with another Clinton administration? Please note:if you do not Vote you may alter the entire process. We really do not need another "popular"President do we? Personally, I would rather see what I get rather than lies many quickly forget.
Too early to predict I am curious any thoughts here? Thanks.

demeanor? I just watched a live press conference with him, and he's definitely putting on an act. He's using that fake smile, and he's answering questions indirectly.

The real question is, what is this guy up to? He's made very clear statements in the past about his ideology's and beliefs, but now it appears he's trying to save some face? Perhaps to gain the trust of more Americans?

Just remember the saying, keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer.I have a feeling he is trying to keep America as close as possible. Hitler was charismatic, and was also amazing at spreading propaganda. Just like Ahmadinejad.

He knows he'll never be able to reach most true Americans, but he also knows he'll have the liberals on his side, which take up a large portion of America.

Why do people feel entitled to receive welfare? Why do hard working Americans have to support healthy lazy people who keep having kids? Why do democrats believe that it is good to raise taxes to promote more social programs for people who do not help themselves? How can any tax paying hard working citizen think it is fair to support others when its hard enough supporting ones own family? How can a mother on welfare not be involved in her childrens life? (what else does she have to do). Please enlighten me on this topic. I have no problem helping a person out who has fallen but, when you never stood up on your own from the beginning is another story. One should not be able to raise a whole family on Govt. handouts.

The 'Prime Minister' Brown has made more ludicrous promises today:
'A personal tutor for every secondary pupil.' Utter nonsense. Schools don't have sufficient books, computers or repairs to their fabric - how can he suddenly pay tens of thousands of 'personal tutors'? Where will he find them? Train people out of the dole queue?

'Stand up for British values.' How? By allowing a further 2 million asylum seekers and other immigrants into the country over the next 5 years?

'Punish and prevent crime.' Lie. The police catch criminals and the courts release them back onto the streets. The Human Rights Act is a threat to our internal security. Murderers serving 5 or 6 years. Can you believe it?

'Binge drinking.' He wants to end it. Ha, ha! HE and the other traitor Blair were responsible for 24-hour drinking. The powerful brewery lobby would never permit that law to be reversed.

Do you agree that he is a liar and a dissembler?

They all yelled that when they all signed the act in which they chose to continue their nuclear program.

WHAT evidence is needed by the left in order to recognize a real threat? Actual mushroom clouds? Hundreds of thousands dead and dying from a dirtybomb?

WHAT on earth can get through to them?

Can't a patriotic American defend and support our troops without going to die in Iraq or Afghanistan first?

Just look at how the CONS treat the parents and families of men and women who have served and died in this war folly...e.g. Mrs Cindy Sheehan, Pat Tillman's family etc...etc...

In a rush for college I parked in the only available parking space, sticking a bit over a private driveway with a dropped kerb. I left plenty room for a car to get out but when i returned a not had been stuck on my window detailing that what i had done was illegal as they "had a truck coming to deliver something today". They are seeking compensation for redelivery charges but i feel that as i left enough space for a car this is a little unfair. If anyone can find any quotes from the law or regulation leaflets to back this up, then that would be great. thanks

The White House apologized for recommending fuel-efficient cars because none of them were made by American manufacturers.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070920/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/fuel_economy_apology;_ylt=AtVgUlK1UdmQ_dexrlmsTXsjzKIX

Even if you go to www.fueleconomy.gov, the government lists the most fuel efficient cars by class and except for one, they are all foreign.

Why would the White House play politics with the truth? Why don't they just call out Detroit for making crap cars?

I see one question where a person yells "Bomb" on a plane and claim that the "libs" would claim that is free speech, and say the same thing about "fire" in a crowded field. Do they really think that is true, or what? I would like serious views on both sides. Not just Libs are dumb, Conservs are nuts, etc.

Note, the Supreme Court has said speech is not free if it creates a "clear and present danger".
