I see one question where a person yells "Bomb" on a plane and claim that the "libs" would claim that is free speech, and say the same thing about "fire" in a crowded field. Do they really think that is true, or what? I would like serious views on both sides. Not just Libs are dumb, Conservs are nuts, etc.

Note, the Supreme Court has said speech is not free if it creates a "clear and present danger".

I brought this up when I read a question asking about shouting Bomb on a plane, and then saying would Libs would call it free speech.
I do agree, I should not have singled out the Conservatives. I think it is sad we do not have a real discourse here. I suspect there is common agreements that cannot be reached through all the noise on both sides.

It just boils down to smear tactics. You can find questions in here at any time that are simply asked to get angry reactions from both sides. They usually employ character assassination, claimed "facts" which are anything but, and childish name calling. I have noticed that there are many more of these questions from the conservative side of things. It may be desperation as their grip on the country falls to the wayside.

You must be watching another website. My experience on YA has been that conservatives get very specific when exposing liberalism for what it is. Concerning the darling of the left, conservatives can give you a long and well documented list of her foibles. They have a good argument, so there is no need to resort to generalities.

Maybe because the 'Conservative' mind is more naturally ironic than the 'Liberal? Liberals are outraged in a serious idealistic way; conservatives in a realistic way.
Eg Democrats elect representatives in the belief that governments can solve every problem; Republicans elect governments to prove that they can't solve any.

People who use such tactics are beyond the realm of rational thought... so you will never be able to figure them out with logic. When it gets to that point... it's time to take and apply an abnormal psych course if you want to figure them out.

Free speech.

The same free speech that Liberals use when they do it.
