demeanor? I just watched a live press conference with him, and he's definitely putting on an act. He's using that fake smile, and he's answering questions indirectly.
The real question is, what is this guy up to? He's made very clear statements in the past about his ideology's and beliefs, but now it appears he's trying to save some face? Perhaps to gain the trust of more Americans?
Just remember the saying, keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer.I have a feeling he is trying to keep America as close as possible. Hitler was charismatic, and was also amazing at spreading propaganda. Just like Ahmadinejad.
He knows he'll never be able to reach most true Americans, but he also knows he'll have the liberals on his side, which take up a large portion of America.

Hippie, I don't need a news station to fill my head with what I believe. I let the past speak for itself. Listen to what this man has said in the past. It completely contradicts what he is saying now. Actions speak louder than words. By the way, I don't even have cable, so how on earth would I be able to watch fox news? I've got 2 stations that actually come in clear. CBS and ABC.

Ruth, you bring up a good point.
I'm almost glad he's using these tactics as well. It really does let his true colors show, doesn't it?

And when did I claim to be pro Bush? I agree Bush has made a lot of mistakes, but I think he is more unintelligent than evil.

A "true American" is an American that wouldn't stand up for injustice.

I haven't seen his speech but I am sure it was a sight to behold. If it is clear that he is full of sh** than I doubt people will buy into it. The fact that he has been allowed to speek freely in this land is saying something about our country. Would someone from the US have been allowed to do the the same in Iran? Putting on an act and fake smiles should be familar to Americans because our president does it all the time.
Taking what he says now and what he has said and done in the past should be combined in forming one's opinon of him. To take only one speech or one event and judging him based on that is ridiculous as it would be in judging any world leader. We should keep an open mind, however, and not go in with preconceived notions and ready to interpret his words and deeds with a definate slant. Thake them for what they really are not what they are perceived to be.
By allowing Ahmadinejad to speak is our way of keeping a prospective enemy close. If we were to keep distant from him there would be problems much like the quagmire in Iraq or worse should we find him our enemy.
What makes you think he'll have liberals on his side? Rush, Ann, Sean? Are they telling you that? By the way how do you define a TRUE AMERICAN. People often using that term are propagandists. Is that your intention? Do you plan to propagandize his visit for your own selfish gains or those of an unpopular, corrupt and inept President?
Nikita Kruschev, General Secretary of the Communist Party in the Soviet Union and Premier spoke before the UN and at other events in the US. Did people believe him? Very few did. They knew who he was and what he stood for. Premier Kruschev was far more dangerous to the US than President Ahmadinejad will ever be. So fear mongers need to stop their propaganda and realize that people aren't stupid but inquisitive. Also, as long as he is talking he isn't attacking.

I completely agree with you. He was clearly busted on his lying and truly seemed to be putting on an act and dancing around questioning.
As much as I would have liked to give the guy a chance, it's hard to trust anything he says when his beliefs have been already put out there in the past, then suddenly changes his beliefs when he sets foot on American soil.
Seems like he's up to something to me. I hate to judge like that......but how can I not after that speech I heard from him?

The way you describe him, you sound like you're describing George W. Bush. Look how many Americans bought his bunch of B.S and lies.
BTW, just what is a "true American"?

he is using whoever will listen to spread his propaganda " I am peace loving man who loves America". People who believe the US is evil will listen to him and ignore or deny the statements he makes on a regular basis about the US, Israel and others. They will deny how women, homosexuals, minorities and the like are treated in Iran. These people are known as "useful idiots" not a nice term but perfectly fitting for those who love to allow themselves to be used.

About the same 30% who believe that George W. Bush stole the election, caused the 9/11 attacks, and call him a liar.
These people are easy to identify as they are walking around with their heads shoved completely up their rear-ends.

I watched him on 60 Minutes last night. Before that show, I was against him coming to the US.
Now, I am certain that Liberals' little ploy will back-fire. Bring him in. It shows the world that we allow free speech. He shows the world what a lying madman looks like.

Wow, this guy really has you cons in a tailspin! Let him speak and see if he has anything intelligent to say. So far he has said he isn't going to attack any nations. You'd think that was good news. Too bad Fox News has your brains on spin cycle and can't process anymore information.
