I am specifically referring to the case that was being made by our leaders as to why this was something that needed to be done urgently. I forgot what those reasons were.

Republicans have been cashing in on a campaign of hate, fear and hysteria against gay people for decades--spare us the denials. Complaining about it now is just theater of the absurd. The simple fact is Republicans are being consumed by the hate monster they've created. The irony would be amusing had it not hurt so many people.

The article brings up an interesting question: Is the Republican party getting too old and conservative. Can a party get too set in its ways to be effective in the political discourse?

As always, with my questions, take your time think it through and answer. One liners and political slams without much substance to them are ignored.

EXCERPT FROM ARTICLE:
Mayor Ray Nagin could be days away from announcing he will run for governor of Louisiana — a move many in this stricken city regard as preposterous.

If Nagin runs, he will do so on his stewardship of New Orleans. But this is a city in great distress two years after Hurricane Katrina, with large swaths still empty, an appalling murder rate and a painfully sluggish recovery. Nagin's disapproval rating stood at 65 percent in a recent poll.

**That man couldn't run a city. Who in the CRAP would elect him for governor?**

I want to see published the outcome of the sexual allegations trial - Case Number H02L83887068 - of Brigadier General John J. Ryneska - who at the time of his trial, was the Deputy Inspector General of the U.S. Army at the Pentagon. Our soldiers have the right of being informed of misconducts of their superiors and predecessors, without having the Privacy Act law coming into play, but it is evident that the more rank offending soldiers have, the more leverage they have on protecting themselves and their reputations. During his sexual allegations's and multiple misconducts's trial, Brigadier General J.J. Ryneska has been asked by his superiors to quietly resign from his military active duty and currently nobody knows what's the outcome of this trial. I believe the outcome of this expensive trial - which by the way it was at tax payers' money - should be published on the Net, for the sake of public information, which is a constitutional civil right for every citizens of the U.S.A.

Modern politics seems to require and reward some capacities that I don’t think I have in abundance... such as a tolerance for... spin rather than an honest discussion of substance. Apparently, it comes easily for some people, but not for me. — Al Gore

My company has had threats of suits regarding sexual harassment, un-safe conditions, and a number regarding the uni-sex bathrooms I was forced to install by the state.

Now a number of my employees are complaining that their work environment is being made hostile by the apperance of some of the other employees. Notably my HR Director. I will admit that she is a most unsightly woman.

Do you think if I hire some very attractive employees to off-set the ugly ones, beauty credits if you will, I can avoid another law suit?

If he wasn't guilty, why would he not seek legal counsel? Are we to believe that he's really that ignorant as to the way our legal system works, after 2 decades in the legislature, and the legal ramifications of a guilty plea? Furthermore, would it not constitute contempt of court for an "innocent" man to plead guilty- i.e. lie to the court- and is the typical common man entitled to a "do-over" on a guilty plea, at taxpayer expense, as he's prepared to seek? What are the legal ramifications of setting such a precedent- both for others that have entered into plea agreements, and for those currently going through the system- will every misdemeanor now require a court trial to assure that a conviction is final?
