Is it because Bush cut and ran to Iraq before the mission was accomplished?

"Violence is soaring in Afghanistan despite years of counterinsurgency operations by international troops and millions of dollars spent in equipping the country's army and police units."

I am interested in joining the military (either navy or coast guard i think) and I will have a bachelors degree in communication by december. I was wondering what the rank and other benefits would be by going in with an education?

Also, I am single and have a dog that I am very attached to. I could not possibly give him up, although I do have family who will watch him during training and and short deployments. so my question is will this work out? can I have a dog and be enlisted (will having a higher rank allow me to live off base?) and for the navy, how often and for what length of time are ships at sea?

Thanks so much!

It's been found that Iraq has hit 3 of 18 benchmarks set by THE WHITE HOUSE, now tony snow is going on about how benchmarks are not the only way to measure results... If there was another way to do it, why didn't the white house include it in the benchmarks.... Doesn't it tell you something when the people who set the benchmarks say they don't matter? If you still support the war in Iraq, how can you look at this and not be angry?

Please don't tell me anything about them "following us home" I might believe it if the people that made this prediction had predicted even one thing right in the entire Iraqi war, but they haven't so that argument holds no water.

can you send him north to Canada. We could use an honest politian with a great track record like his. Its rare to ever listen to a politian and feel hope, its too bad mainstream media does not give him any airtime except to say strippers are supporting him and laugh.

Someone who will remain nameless as well as clueless made untrue and hateful comments about Romney's religion. So much for the first amendment.

I thought dems were supposed to be the sexual deviants while the repubs took the "moral high ground." So why do you suppose then that there is so much "deviancy" on the right side of the isle? Theres Sen. Vitter (R, LA)who keeps getting caught with prostitutes while presenting himself as the Candidate of Family Values and the Sanctity of Traditional Marriage (ironic, no?). And Sen. Larry Craig (R, ID) busted trying to get busy with an undercover cop in a public toilet - tsk tsk Senator.... And who can forget Rep. Mark Foley (R, FL) who was not only looking for gay sex, but gay underage sex. Yikes! Oh and James Guckert (aka Jeff Gannon) who was a gay prostitute right before he became a White House Press "Reporter." And have you heard yet that Alberto Gonzales has been accused of covering up a sex scandal involving teenage boys and the guards at the Texas Youth Commission? Oh how the list goes on. Heres a link with many many more if your interested...

In the UK you are considered an adult from 18 years of age. How is it then that Tesco's won't sell alcohol go anyone under 21? I think Morrisons have the same policy.
