I don't understand why Craig keeps saying "I'm not gay, this is proposterous, I'm not gay," as if that's the most important issue at hand. It seems to me that no one cares about his lewd conduct, just that he propositioned another man. If he had done this to a woman, would his own party be attacking him the way it is? If he had done this to a woman, would he even be convicted right now?

I don't care about what he likes in the bedroom, personally. If he's gay, he should just admit it and be done with it. The rampant homophobia that is being displayed with this whole thing is sickening.

Anyone else?

First off, I would tend to believe the police officer in this case (why would he lie? and he would know what conduct he was looking for, and not want to waste time on false arrests), and I think Craig should resign immediately.

But I'm a Republican. And most Republicans want this guy out of office also, for being a "pervert."

And we can all agree that this guy is a hypocrite.

But the the Democrats are supposed to be the party of tolerance, and it seemsa there's an awful lot of gay-bashing going on, here on this site and generally. One could just point out that Craig said one thing and (apparently) did another. But the gleeful repetition of the lurid details by some seems to indicate there's plenty of pent-up "homophobia" on the left.

So, is it OK to make fun of gay people, or not? I'd say no. It seems some (many) Democrats disagree.

I wonder how gay rights advocates feel about the Democrats over this?

If people want a change in our laws we should look at theirs. They are far harsher than ours.

What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? I havn't seen a bit of evendence of a crime yet people on both political sides are calling for an investigation. Some are even calling for impeachment. I dont agree with his politics but all people should be presumed innocent until proven guilty. That is the american way. People who say he's guilty because he made a plea deal dont understand our judicial system. The only mistake Craig has made is thinking he would have been better off with a lawyer. Only guilty people need lawyers. A lawyer is more likely to try to convince you to cop a plea especially on a misdemeanor.
It sickens me that so many are taking the word or a cop, and a news magizine that has been out to get him for a long time.

I have heard it said that any fighting force that doesn't wear a uniform or fight according to international standards of "conventional" warfare is a terrorist force. Additionally, the intent of a fighting force has been used to differentiate between "legitimate" military force and terrorism. If a military force commits an act of violence to meet a certain tactical or strategic objective this legitimizes the action, if a person or group commits an act of violence to cause domestic, commercial, and political instability without a clear objective it is called terrorism.

The question is; are these good ways to evaluate what is or is not terrorism?

Consider that the British criticized the American rebels during the revolutionary war for not wearing uniforms and not "fighting in conventional ways"

Doesn’t it stand to reason that an inferior force will attempt to exploit a stronger forces weakness and that the stronger force will attempt to legitimize its actions and demonize an enemy?

I hear he has scientists working to create an orchard of Money Trees. How much more of our tax dollars and kids are going to be poured into " The Sand Pit" before we realize this is a lost cause? What's worse is Congress is accepted to grant him permission to spend 50 billion. Why did I vote them into office?! The GOP was right, they are spinless, and I've had it up to here with them. They are now just as responisble for this War's continuation as Bush. Congress should grow a pair and stop funding this mess.

War settles nothing.

I would!

I think he's one of the best presidents America has ever had. In terms of Bush's place in history, he'll be remembered alongside the greatest presidents including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ronald Reagan, & a fellow Republican by the name of Abraham Lincoln. Now, it's impossible for me to list ALL Bush accomplishments with such a short amount of space, but I'll list a couple of things this great man has done.

1) Bush has reestablished good Christian Values in the White House, and America at large (Lord knows we needed it after the Clinton administration).

2) Bush has made us safe from terrorists through his audacious military efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

3) Bush has continuously fought for Middle Class Americans by cutting taxes. A move that also saved the Economy!

4) Bush has raised educational standards for our kids by starting the "no child left behind" program.

I can go on and on with Bush's accomplishments. There's just too many to mention!

Here's one that I thought of . Tell me what you think .
How about we begin posting (on this site and others) exactly what 'Work' Congress did for the day , a synopsis , each and every day . Then if they were wasting time , we could call , write and email our congressmen and demand they do their jobs . A daily log available to all to access .

My suggestion may or may not be the greatest but it may be worth a try . And at least I tried coming up with a solution rather than just complaining .

What Do You Think ?

I am to go for a review of my child support in Oct. I live in GA and currently receive a little over $300 per month for 2 children. The Child Support office has recommended a little over $1300 is what I should be receiving. The father has, of course, requested a hearing to dispute this. On what basis would a judge likely decrease this?
Some background info - When we seperated we had a 2 year old and I was pregnant. I worked full-time and he was in college full time, hence the original low amount, but he now has a full time nursing job and almost $7000 monthly income. Recently my hours changed to a combination of days, nights and weekends and I would be paying out more for care than I was earning, so now stay home. (The review inputs an income for you if there is no physical reason you cannot work.)We are both remarried and my husbands income allows me to stay home with my children, something I was never able to afford to do before and love!

Short term and long term.
Do Republicans want to distance themselves from the mistakes of the Bush administration or do they deny he made mistakes - stay the course? Will the Republicans address the sex scandals over the past year or just shrug it off like the Democrats with Bill Clinton?

Is Rudy G., a New York City liberal, is he the new Republican, or will John McCain make a comeback?

In my opinion, Ron Paul is what America needs right now.
And I feel he is the only true Conservative.
