Members of Congress pass myriad laws that we are all expected to obey, yet the see themselves as above the law. They tend to forget that they are public servants, and should hold themselves to the highest standards of ethics, honesty and morality.
Any member of Congress who gets caught in such perverse activities should not only be impeached - (s)he should have all pensions, perks, and privileges taken away.
I know there will be some arguments posted comparing the Craig incident with Bill Clinton's incident. Republicans crucified Clinton for having an extra-marital affair with another consenting adult that was not public knowledge until some 'wacko' gossiper spilled the beans and made it public. Craig, on the other hand, thought it appropriate to solicit sex in a public bathroom!!! That's a little different.
And while there will always be childish finger-pointing as to which sin is greater, the fact of the matter is this: Bill Clinton never professed to being some kind of puritanical saint (unlike 'holier-than-thou' Republicans who sit on panels that decry human sexual perversion or different sexual persuasions, and then hypocritically do the very things they public abhor closed doors - or behind closed toilet stalls). -RKO- 08/29/07

Yes, it does seem that exhibitionism is part of the gay lifestyle. Senator Craig could easily have had the comforts and privacy of the most expensive hotels. However he seems to prefer the excitement of being caught in public. His sexual passion to be exposed is very much at odds with his continued electability.

Seems to me that the politicians who talk the loudest about family values and protection of the traditional families are the very ones that we should watch out for... in the recent past there have been legislators who have proposed laws to protect children who are now involved in scandals involving the children they said they want to protect. The same is true with this latest headline... When confronted by the policeman in the MN airport he showed his card that declares he is a US Senator and said "What do you think about that?"...Well Mr. Craig, do you really want to know?

Scourge has a point ... the following statements have equal truth value:
Richard Nixon - "I am not a crook."
O.J. Simpson - "I'm looking for the real killers."
Bill Clinton - "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."
Sen. Craig - "I am not gay."
To say it Middle-Ages style, methinks ye olde senator doth proteste too much.

i care! when our leaders say one thing yet do another. i think we have a right to expect honesty from our leaders and we should demand it. maybe this would purge all the liars and criminals from politics but we would not have many in public service if that happened.
i don't blame a group from the action of one of their members. you find hypocrites in any group.

He doesn't have to be gay.. seems to me he is just a straight perv that likes BJs from strangers (men) in airport bathrooms.
Normal gay men don't hang out in airport bathrooms looking for gay oral sex.... at least I don't think they do.
