I was wondering the strategy behind red light cameras. It seems people run red lights at any intersection. Are they set up in higher crime areas so officers don't have get out of their cars to issue tickets in a place where their life might be at risk?

This quote from the first article stood out to me the most
"ADL's report, released on April 24, states that white supremacists, skinheads, and other extremist groups are using the immigration debate to incite violence against Latinos, regardless of status, around the country."

Well why exactly am I asking this? Well not to long ago another user posted a similar question ( talking about hate crimes against LEGAL hispanics) and one person answered "They knew they were looking for trouble when they came here. They got what was coming to them". I'll get bashed if I name names so I'll just say this.....if I were to ever see her in person I would have some "colorful" words for her.

For instance why do I pay the electric bill, its not like they take my check and put it into a machine to make the electricy generator work. Couldnt it be possible for us to live on a credit type system where we are given things in return for our work. It would eliminate the rich and poor and we would all be equal

The US Military has bases in 63 countries.

Brand new military bases have been built since September 11, 2001 in seven countries.

The total of America's military bases in other people's countries in 2005, according to official sources, was 737.

Our overseas bases, according to the Pentagon, contained 32,327 barracks, hangars, hospitals, and other buildings, which it owns, and 16,527 more that it leased.

The size of these holdings very depending on the source quoted being between 687,347 and 3 million acres.

This they say does not include bases in Afghanistan, Iraq (106 garrisons as of May 2005), Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Qatar, and Uzbekistan, even though the U.S. military has established colossal base structures in the Persian Gulf and Central Asian areas since 9/11.

So what do you think?

Is it possible people in other countries think we are menacing?

I had a winner for an item on a well known online auction,I had stated VERY clearly the forms of payment I except,She paid in a form I do not except,(money order), The item was shipped after I made her wait a while,She claims she never recieved the item and is making threats of small claims court. I have delivery conformation from the USPS that she recieved the item.If she is stupid enough to actually file for a $19.00 item won't I win?Would I be able to respond by mail or something with the delivery conformation proof and avoid actually going to a court room? Both parties are in N.Y state, would she have to travel to MY home town to file?Would I recieve some sort of paper in the mail? How does the whole thing work? Any info would be helpfull on the small claims court procedure.

I live in North Carolina and would have to move to Washington state (where the only Tech. school for SERE Specialists is), and am wondering if I can plan a cross country trip that would take two to two and a half weeks to make (plan on visiting about six destinations). Is that possible?

I was sickened to find out Amazon.com is selling books on how to raise and train fighting pit-bulls. I was troubled even further when I contacted them about this and they hid behind the 1st Amendment. I am all for free speech and not trying to suggest censoring anyone, but I think there are limits! I was going to jokingly ask if they would sell a manual on how to build an A-bomb, but then I checked their site and they actual do! Maybe I am sensitive because I lost many friends on 9/11 and I own a dog that was raised for “bait” and “raping” (she was 2 of 35 dogs that did not have to be euthanized and it took almost 2 years to nurse her back to health).

I think there is line where the rights invoked by the 1st Amendment need to be tempered against moral and ethical responsibility.

Am I wrong?

If you agree, PLEASE boycott Amazon.com and pass this info along to all that you can. If you disagree, then look at this as my way of exercising my rights to the 1st Amendment.
