I think it should. HEAR ME OUT. If it were to come back, no president could start preemptive wars or jump to conclusions before the real truth comes out. Right?

Dream on ! The draft will be back because the world is no safer today than it was in the days preceding the end of the cold war. It will take only one semi-major skirmish before the Pentagon gives the green light to the selective service to re-activate.

That's not what you want to hear, but peace is not going to be with us anytime soon. Each day that goes by, another ominous activity happens somewhere on the globe, and it's never good.

The Muslims keep spreading their venom across continents. The Russians are gearing up for something evil. China is in bed with Russia, so as one goes, the other goes, too.

How can we think positive about the future, with all this hate in the world. We can hold our own by letting each one know, that if we go down they will go with us. Fear is a great equalizer !

It is already a Federal law that every man age 18 must register for the draft whether there is an active draft going on or not. It is his obligation to serve the people of his country.

Service to one's country is a great honor. Sure with things going on in Iraq and Afghannastan it's kind of bleak right now, but it's also good to know that there is a ready supply of names of people who are able bodied men who will answer the call should that call come.

Women are also trained right alongside their male counterpart in all areas of combat training. We have to know how to survive too.

the draft will only com back if it deems necessary but at the current stage and time I do not for see a draft for Iraq War. We need to understand that the draft is only going to happen if it is the ultimate decision. Such as WW3 and maybe it can happen but in our current time I am not worried about. If you are worried about it you can be a puss and join ROTC "run off to Canada "

Never say never, no one knows for sure what will happen next year or the year after that. We could be in a world war and the draft then will be reinstated automatically.

Never say never. There's all sorts of countries the Republicans are just dying to invade & pretty soon, the troops aren't gonna enlist to serve 2-3 tours so the meat's gotta come from somewhere. The Republicans wouldn't dream of asking the illegals to fight, but they will give them dental coverage & full amnesty.

I guess I wouldn't bet my last dollar on that thought. You have to have a military regardless of what the do-gooders think. We have to maintain a certain level of personnel and the need for defense grows more and more all the time. If times call for a draft, it will happen. Just my opinion.

Never say never!!!!!

If another world war like WW1 or 2 should happen a draft is a forgone conclusion. Otherwise, I doubt we will get one.
